This beautiful doll is very faintly incised on the back of her head: 204. I lightly marked that number in pencil also because the original is so hard to read. She was made by the Bahr & Prochild Co. She has a most lovely face with dark feathered eyebrows, set blue glass eyes with painted lashes all around, eye and nose accents and a shaded closed mouth. Her face is all factory painted and is beautiful. She has pierced ears that have been fitted with antique blue glass bead earrings that compliment her big blue eyes. She’s on a French style body that’s common for these dolls. The body is in its original paint, is well strung and in good condition. It has expected normal wear. Her head has some repair on the chin (photo # 6) and there is a small tight hairline on the right forehead (it is hard to see in actual size, photo # 8). The doll came to me with no clothes or wig so all has been replaced. Her white cotton lawn dress came from my collection of doll clothing and was probably made in the 1980’s. She wears vintage white sandals, the right sole has been replaced. Her replaced wig is held on with double-sided tape, but not well so I ran a hatpin through the hole in the top of her head. It’s not a good solution for keeping the wig in place but I leave it up to the next owner to decide if they wish to glue the wig to the head. Anyway, she’s a beautiful doll.
