Big & Beautiful Antique German Bisque Head Doll, AM390 & her Baby Doll! Made in Germany around 1890, Anna is a bisque head doll who is 29 tall. The doll’s perfect bisque socket head is marked Armand Marseille, Germany A 12M 390. I think she is a 390n because there is a small incised mark next to her molded holes for the eye rocker to be stabilized with. The doll’s head has no chips, cracks or repairs. She has her original blonde mohair wig and pate. The wig is very full and curly in the back. She has feathered blonde eyebrows and perfect big brown sleep eyes. She has an open mouth with four upper teeth. Her lips are lined. She has a lovely expression. The doll has her original sturdy, wood-and-composition ball-jointed body in very good condition. Her stringing is good. The doll is nicely dressed. She has a one piece combination, a half slip with eyelet trim, wonderful antique woven stockings and antique shoes. She has a fabulous antique dress of off-white cotton. The dress has a drawstring neckline and lace around the neck. The bodice is trimmed with lots of embroidered braid trim and many tiny pintucks. The sleeves are long and have embroidered lace in ruffles at the cuffs. The back of the dress has a hidden button placket with antique buttons. The skirt has three large tucks and fantastic embroidered lace at the hem. The dress has all French or bound seams. Anna also has a slouchy knit /woven hat with antique flowers.
