Beautiful older full-size 4/4 German violin, made in the traditional Antonius Stradivarius style and retaining its original-style interior label marked “Antonius Stradivarius” and Made in Germany. The violin has a wonderful deep reddish-brown finish with attractive natural age, patina and character throughout. It features a spruce top, traditional purfling, ebony-style fingerboard and fittings, and a beautifully carved scroll. Included is the old fitted hard case shown in the photographs, with green velvet interior, bright green protective ribbons, aged hardware and a wonderfully authentic vintage appearance. The case itself shows considerable age and wear, including wear to the exterior, interior, hardware and handle. The violin is in vintage used condition with scratches, finish wear, marks, scuffs and other age-related imperfections. Please carefully examine all photographs as they are an important part of the condition description. The instrument has not been professionally inspected, serviced or set up for playing. Its current playability is unknown and it may require strings, adjustment, setup and/or repairs by a qualified luthier before use. This instrument is being offered specifically as a German-made Stradivarius-style/copy violin and NOT as an authentic Antonio Stradivari instrument. No bow is included. A very attractive old German violin with wonderful visual character – equally interesting for a player willing to have it professionally evaluated and set up, or for a collector of vintage string instruments.

George Edwards Lithograph Green Gold Finch & Butterflies Copper Engraving Framed. Catesby Edwards Seligmann Le Chardonneret Verd Lithograph Framed & Matted RARE. His prints are celebrated for their scientific precision and artistic beauty, often depicting birds in their natural habitats with other elements like butterflies, insects, or plants. The original prints were hand-colored copper plate engravings printed on handmade paper. The prints cover a wide range of species, from native European birds to exotic tropical ones like parrots and toucans. Antique Bird Lithography Engraving. (1720 Nürnberg -1762 Nürnberg). “Cardueli affinis viridis – Le Chardonneret verd”. From Sammlung Verschiedener Auslandischer und Selener Vogel. Hand-colored copperplate engravings after George Edwards and Mark Catesby (above engravings after Edwards). 16×21 Framed and Matted. From there he traveled to Florida and the Bahamas, returning to England in 1726 with a vast store of information on the wildlife he had observed. It became the earliest colored book on American birds. He was an ornithologist and bird illustrator who was heavily influenced by Catesby. The plates that were contained within these works were valued for their landscape backgrounds, which were unusual at the time. To satisfy the tremendous demand for both these landmark works, Johann Michael Seligmann, a German publisher, issued a nine-volume compilation of the works of Mark Catesby and George Edwards. In bringing these masterworks to a larger audience, Seligmann has earned himself a rightful place in natural history circles, and his charming prints, reflecting well on their sources, stand on their own as another respected source for 18th century natural history documentation. Antique Weinranck & Schmidt Mounted Glass Decanter. A fantastic German silver-mounted glass decanter by Weinranck & Schmidt of Hanau, circa 1890’s. Clear glass decanter with finely wheel-engraved floral, foliage, scrollwork and crosshatch on all 4 panels. 800 silver in pierced repoussé design with hand chasing in Rococo Revival with putti, flowers, latticework, and rocaille ornament. It’s highly detailed piece of artwork and a conversation piece. The bottle is stoppered in matching silver by a young Bacchus raising a drinking vessel. The front cartouche was provided for a monogram but remains unengraved. Marks include Germany, 800, and the Weinranck & Schmidt heart-form W. The silver base casing weighs 131 grams. The decanter measures approximately 13.25″ tall with the stopper inserted, 5″ wide, and 2.25 front to back. The base is about 5″x3″. Fine antique condition overall, with ordinary surface wear, light scratches, and minor residual tarnish consistent with age. The bottle seats securely in the silver mount and can be removed without damaging anything; one seam of the base has a micro-split that is stable and consistent with normal flexing. Chips and losses are present around the bottom edges of the glass, concealed by the silver base when assembled. Please review the detailed photographs. The stopper is in excellent condition and seats naturally in the neck, though it is not an airtight fit. The base sits flat and the decanter is stable without wobble. The piece has been gently washed and the silver lightly polished, with no aggressive restoration. A light coating of conservation wax was applied to the silver after cleaning. The stopper will be wrapped separately with archival tissue and layers of protective cushioning.

This exquisite matching pair depicts an elegantly dressed gentleman presenting a flower to a lady in a romantic courting scene. Both figures feature exceptional decorative detailing, including elaborate period clothing, delicate floral accents, expressive hand-painted faces, and richly textured naturalistic bases. The beautiful cream, gold, and warm brown color palette makes this pair particularly striking. Attribution has not been independently authenticated. Condition: Beautiful antique condition considering their approximately 130-year history. The gentleman is missing one finger. This is the only known damage to either figurine. No other chips, cracks, or repairs noted. Both figures retain their delicate decorative details, including the flowers, clothing, and facial features. Please carefully review all photographs, including the underside markings and the missing finger. A wonderful opportunity to acquire a substantial matching pair of antique German porcelain figures, ideal for collectors of Volkstedt porcelain, European decorative arts, and 19th-century figurines. Both figurines are included.
