This is a fairly nice Heddon #45 reel from around the 1920’s. This is what is known as a quick apart reel. The rear side plate unscrews and then you can take out the spool. The rear plate unscrews backwards from traditional reels. Instead of righty tighty it is righty loosy and lefty tighty. The side plates, foot, handle and spool are German Silver and the barrel is plated. Nearly all the plating is on the barrel and has the standard aluminum thumb rest attached. All the German Silver is super nice. The reel comes with a double knob handle and the reel has the Carter’s Patent on it.
