Scarce decorative 1908 Wiener Verlag Oscar Wilde partial set in German, published in Wien und Leipzig. Includes four volumes from Oscar Wildes Sämtliche Werke in deutscher Sprache along with the two-volume German edition of Robert Harborough Sherard’s biography Das Leben Oscar Wildes. Attractive burgundy bindings with gilt floral spine decoration, gilt cover vignette, patterned endpapers, portraits, and Fraktur type. A nice collectible shelf lot for Oscar Wilde, fin-de-siècle literature, German-language editions, and decorative antique bindings. Antique decorative leather bound lot in good used condition for age. Burgundy/gilt decorated bindings with patterned endpapers and German Fraktur text. Includes 4 volumes of Oscar Wilde’s Sämtliche Werke in deutscher Sprache plus 2 volumes of Robert Harborough Sherard’s Das Leben Oscar Wildes. Covers and spines show rubbing, edge wear, bumped corners, and wear/chipping to spine ends. Gilt decoration remains attractive. Pages show age toning with some light spotting/foxing.
