Here’s another early ornament for your Christmas collection. This early crepe paper and spun cotton ornament comes from a long time Christmas collection. It is a man with a hand painted composition face wearing a top hat and sporting a cane or walking stick. He is most likely German from the late 1800’s. He stands 4 3/4 in height. He is made of spun cotton, and his blue jacket and yellow pants are of crepe paper. His top hat is made of thin cardboard. His crepe paper jacket also has a small tear on the right front, which is shown in the accompanying photos. This is a nice early ornament worthy of continued preservation in someone’s collection!
