A beautiful rare German / Austrian solid silver beaker cup. It is hallmarked with the German 13 lot mark for 812 standard along with a makers mark DF. I would date it to c1840s. It has been well made and has been engraved with entwined initials. It is in superb condition being free from dings splits distortions and repairs, just the odd tiny mark. It measures over 3 inches (7.8cm) tall by over 2.5 inches (6.7cm) across the rim and 2 inches (5.1cm) across the base and it weighs 58 grams. A nice quality rare piece. Exquisite German Jugendstil (Art Nouveau) silver brooch with gold wash on top, from a very elegant in the style era, c 1900. Could be attributed to a design by Max Joseph Gradl for the very famous Theodor Fahrner Silversmiths company. Featuring beautiful stylized botanical or trumpet-flowers (Cala-Lilies) motifs, accentuated with vibrant turquoise and blue enamel work. Bearing 925 stamp for sterling silver and a deer head. After thorouhgh research it has been concluded that having the 925 stamp and Austro-Hungarian deer head import silver assay stamp and because the fan trumpet flower motif is uniquely documented as a Gradl -designed Fahrner masterpiece, the lack of a “TF” logo does not ruin its authenticity. Dimensions 4,5 cm / 4 cm.

An authentic German porcelain match holder figurine, Mold No. 470, manufactured by the Limbach Porcelain Factory (Thuringia), featuring a hand-painted underglaze blue intertwined LG monogram, mid-19th century. ” The “Three Bags Design: The three bags or sacks surrounding the boy serve a functional purpose. Typically, one large open sack behind or beside the boy was used as a cigarette holder, one was a match holder, while the textured surfaces of the bags or the base acted as a match striker to light friction matches. The Painting Style: The “white with pink blush splash” refers to the classic hand-painted decoration technique applied to German bisque porcelain. The Subject Matter: Whimsical or slightly naughty children-such as a young boy secretly smoking a giant cigar or a pipe-were incredibly popular, humorous themes during the Victorian and Edwardian eras. The Letters: The “L” stands for Limbach, and the “G” stands for Greiner (Gotthelf Greiner, the factory’s founder). The Layout: The mark typically features a distinct diamond outline (sometimes crossed or stylized) with the cursive or block letters L and G nestled neatly inside or alongside the borders.
