Glass is very thin and in great condition, – Very unusual depiction. This ornament is almost 6 tall. Lots of crinkly wire wrap – circa 1880s. Very good condition – remember it is well over 100 years old and may have surface scratches, minor missing paint, etc. It is not mint. It was always unsilvered inside. 22 Rare Antique Turned head 1880s German Cuno & Otto Dressel Doll. Marked: COD 96-6 DEP. She has a gorgeous bisque turned head shoulder plate on original leather body with bisque hands. With brown paperweight stationary glass eyes in original factory setting with hand painted lashes, open mouth with five teeth, blush on her checks and rosy lips with accent lines, her bisque has no cracks or hairlines. Her antique original leather body in good condition for her age. She is dressed in an antique/vintage dress with some age wear. Really a nice doll and ready for display! ANTIQUE early closed mouth Kestner 20 Turned Shoulder Bisque Bebe 1880’s. She stands 20 inches tall and is one of the earliest closed mouth unmarked Kestner Dolls with the marks being only capital letters. This doll is marked E. Her creamy Bisque is excellent without hairlines, cracks or repairs. Her cobalt blue paperweight eyes are mesmerizing. She is on her. Original kid leather body with porcelain arms. It is still strong as it was 140 years ago and still is in great condition. She is wearing an amazing French blonde human hair wig with bangs and long ringlets around the back. Her wonderful antique printed dress is adorned with tons of lace, velvet ribbons and she wears a vintage hat with a feather. Her shoes and socks are vintage. Beautiful perfect creamy bisque without hairlines or damage. Original white kid leather body, sturdy and without leaks. One finger on her right hand has a chip. Fine modeling and painting of facial features; slightly smiling closed mouth with wonderful expression. This Nun doll is a early Kestner 22 shoulder head doll that has a very turned head with a very nice leather body. Its from early 1880s. Only marks on back is a 10. She has a closed mouth and brown set eyes. The plaster pate has never been removed from top of her head. Their is no damage to head. L ook at hands they a beautiful. The religious habit was made for her by Sister Caroline of the Sisters of Mercy in 1880s. The habit has many many parts to it and I will probably butcher the names. The black habit dress goes to floor from dolls shoulders. Attached to back is a long train th at hooks up at waist. When unhooked it stretches out behind her. Their is also a attached snood that the nun would place her hair in to keep it from showing. Around her waist is a leather belt that adjusts habit to her waist. Hanging over belt is a full sized sterling rosary. On her head is a white bonnet and around neck is a white collar. Over the bonnet is a black veil. Its truly a work of art. This doll is not very common, she is german and the head is incised 630 11. Period is 1880’s and the firm is Alt, Beck and Gottschalck with the face of certain Simon & Halbig dolls. She stands 18 1/2 inches tall (47 cm) and the bisque is free of hairline or restoration. She has a closed mouth and the blue paperweight eyes (bulbous). The body with straight wrists is original and in very good condition (not perfect), the body is very heavy (german composition), 2 fingers were restored and there is some paint touch on the left hand, 2 other small repairs at the upper part of the left leg and near the knee of the right leg. These repairs are common and it is minor. The quality of the bisque is good but you can see that there is no paint at the upper part of the head, in the back, it is normal, the heads were made like that. About the clothes (everything is antique) : 3 original and very beautiful under garments, antique socks, the leather shoes (good used condition) from the same period of the doll are maybe original.
