1930s early 1940s German Mohair Bear – “Benjamin”. THIS DAPPER GENTLEMAN IN BEN! BENJAMIN TO HIS MOTHER. Benjamin has 80 to 90 years of LOVE. In great condition for his age. He stands 20 tall and has lovely golden sparse mohair. I love this yellow gold and it gives the antique bears a unique look. The eyes have been replaced with amber glass with black pupils. His nose and mouth, and claws (3 each paw) are all black embroidery floss. His paw pads have been replaced. The material used is actually mohair that has been reversed, the backing. It works very well and is a common look used with Bear Artists. His entire body is stuffed with excelsior. A fully jointed body and head. There is evidence of a squeaker in his tummy but does not work any longer. He comes with a red knitted wool sweater, a red plaid bow and an antique piece of cotton ribbon that can be tied in a cravat. Please see pictures as they are part of the description. 1930s early 1940s German Mohair Bear – “Jordan”. This very handsome fellow is Jordan. Jordan has 80 to 90 years of LOVE. His condition shows that of a gallant teddy bear who has his battle scars from fighting monsters under the bed. Offering his little body to be squeezed to death during horrible thunderstorms and possible picked up by his ears maybe once or twice. A Brave Bear Is He!! Ready to be yours to squeeze and cuddle. To gather and hide your tears. And always, there to bring a smile to your face. He stands 16 tall and has lovely golden sparse mohair. I love this yellow gold and it gives the antique bears a unique look. The eyes have been replaced with early boot button eyes. His nose and mouth, and claws (3 each paw) are all black embroidery floss. His paw pads are all original except the top right front. Have been replaced with a very light tan wool. The top left paw and the two bottom paws are showing the excelsior stuffing. His entire body is stuffed with excelsior. A fully jointed body and head. There is evidence of a growler but it only”Thunks” at this time in his life. He comes with a knitted blue pair of shorts and a butternut colored sweater with faux brass buttons with anchors on them.
