This listing features an authentic German handcrafted wooden nutcracker figure, standing approximately 11 inches tall, with original hand-painted details and traditional folk art styling. The figure’s classic turn-key mechanism operates smoothly, and it retains the characteristically expressive face and costume design synonymous with German Erzgebirge and Seiffen woodworking traditions. Originating from a region famous for artisan nutcracker production, this piece exemplifies the tall, cylindrical body and bright palette collectors seek. German nutcrackers have been iconic collectible figures for decades, treasured both as functional tools and as decorative items – especially among enthusiasts of European folk art, holiday décor, and woodcarving heritage. Though this example has a small missing element on its base, this absence does not detract from the piece’s visual impact or mechanical operation. The wear is consistent with age and normal display, and such character traits are common in older nutcrackers that have been enjoyed over generations. This nutcracker remains a compelling display piece for a holiday collection or year-round folk art presentation.

The case is a little worn, but overall a very sound and beautiful clock. I haven’t fully tested it. I do know the springs wind up and the gong strikes as it should. The clock hands move as they should. The pendulum is in great shape and the key will come with it. This is a great old Gustav Becker clock. Please let me know if you have any questions and I will respond promptly. This item is in the category “Collectibles\Decorative Collectibles\Clocks\Wall Clocks”.
