Vintage/Antique German Bird Cage Automaton Music Box. This is a rare piece as it features 3 automated birds rather than 1. The movement ran when wound up, but the birds did not make much of a chirp. Bellows for the sound are a bit worn out and could use repair/replacing. Please see video (please ignore sound of television in the background). This birdcage automaton is most likely German. It does have a Swiss retailer mark for Landolt Arbenz, a high end store in Zurich. Measures about 6 x 6 x 11 inches (with handle up).

About 15 inches tall , nice shape except her cloths are faded, use to be blue and red, can see the original color in the folds in clothing. Bisque head looks good no nicks cracks etc. Couple of chips on her fingers left hand (photo) minor. The base is wooden as are her shoes. The case has a quality carved Black Forest Swiss chalet design. It has superb proportions for a cuckoo clock and displays beautifully. Their are superb hand carved decoration which are all around the case in excellent original condition, they are all hand painted to make them stand out. To the front you have the various automaton features including the water wheel, orchestra musical figures, dancing figures and man pulling the turret church bell, they are all in full working order. The whole case is in excellent condition and have a fantastic display look. White roman numerals & original hands. The dial is in excellent condition. Rare triple weight driven musical automaton cuckoo movement. It strikes the cuckoo chime on the half past and the hours as well as striking a gong. When the cuckoo strike is going on the automaton figure pulling on the church bell is activated as you can see in the video above as the clock is striking. On the half and hour after the cuckoo strike the musical barrel is activated and plays the musical tune, while this is going on the automaton dancing figures, orchestra musical band and water wheel are activated and move along with the music and are all in full working order as you can see in the video above. Original pendulum and weights. Movement is full working order keeping good time as can be seen in the video above. There is also a silent/chime pull lever underneath to silence the musical chimes if wanted. The clock itself measures 17.75 inches high x 15.75 inches wide x 8.75 inches deep. The chain will give a 66 inch drop from the under side of the case on a full cycle. This is a perfect investment clock and a beautiful display piece.
