She has a shy look to her, yet inquisitive at the same time. Head is without hairlines or restoration, there are chips/flakes by the stringing holes at the top of her head as you can see in the pictures. One tiny chip on her earring hole. There is a factory mold flaw on her forehead. Original blown glass blue eyes are set and surrounded by loads of lushly painted eyelashes. Multi-stroke dark brown eyebrows. Open mouth with 6 tiny upper teeth she was made for the French market! Incised on the back of her head with’300′ and’dep’. Her wig is antique and a little sparse, but still displays well on her. It is antique and has old dark finish on all of it aside from her lower legs. I believe her lower legs were repainted. One leg is a tad longer than the other, but I don’t know if this is due to the way the ball joints fit into the hip sockets. The parts do seem to go together. It is an early body with loose ball joints at the shoulders and straight wrists. Her clothing is simply adorable! She is wearing a matched set of antique pantaloons,, chemise and slip. And her antique dress is the sweetest! It is a linen type with red underdress and smock over the top. There is a little purse attached to her waistband in front! I believe it is a factory original dress. It is so perfect on her! Her shoes and socks are replaced. Artisan leather boots with brown rosettes on the fronts. She is wonderful to display! Looks like the doll has hairline on the left cheek. Other than that, the head has paint imperfections as well as glue and hair residue, but no damage. The paint on the face is well preserved. Sleepy eyes of the doll work well. The wig and pate are original and a little worn. The stringing of the head, body and legs is tight. The arms are loose. Papier mache/composition body is in overall good condition with normal wear and possibly some paint touch up. Please see the photos for additional details. Some fingers on one of the hands have chips. The baby is wearing vintage pantaloons and very pretty dress. The stockings, shoes and matching bonnet are included. No stand is included. GORGEOUS Rare Early Antique Bahr Proschild Belton Type Dome Head Doll Mold 309. This is an early 18 tall B&P doll made in Germany. She is incised “309 9″ on the rear of her shoulderplate. She has no damage to her very pale bisque shoulderhead or her delicately sculpted hands and fingers. Her eyes are absolutely stunning- they remind me of the paperweight eyes seen on French dolls of the same time period. Her body is leaking saw dust and is fragile so her new owner may want to make repairs. Her lovely antique dress fits her perfectly and covers much newer undergarments.
