For your consideration is a delightful antique 24 German character baby doll by Simon & Halbig, Kammer Reinhardt. Her bisque head was light checked and no issues were found. It is marked “122”. As seen in the photos. She has blue glass sleep eyes, dimples, an open mouth with two teeth, and a platinum blond mohair wig. Her composition body has all fingers and toes, and some crazing, paint touch ups, possible repainting- not sure, and typical wear as expected. See photos for details. Her stringing seems fine. The baby is dressed in a long white cotton dress and slip, white cotton bloomers, vintage baby stockings, and a lovely lace baby bonnet. Bright and beautiful, this darling Kestner bisque child doll is here to stay! This precious German-made girl stands at 14 tall, with a high-quality modeling and painted features, with bright blue glass eyes! She bears a resemblance to the classic kestner 167 model. Shes on a wood & composition body, and is adorned in a cute costume, topped with a blond mohair wig. She does have some damage to the bisque head, and is thus being offered here at an incredible price! Snatch her up now, and make her your own! She has a bisque socket head, with painted and molded features: blue glass eyes (formerly sleep eyes, but are now set), painted upper and lower lashes, feathered brown brows, and an open mouth with four upper teeth. She is on a wood & composition body, fully-jointed, standing at 14 tall. She wears a blond mohair wig in a short, curly style. She wears a white cotton high-quality dress, with eyelet lace trim and raised embroidery detailing. Underneath goes a white cotton full slip, with lace trim, and a pair of cream cotton pantaloons. She wears white socks and white faux leather shoes, while a purple ribbon goes around her waist. MARKS: made in Germany [back of head, incised]. Germany 0 1/2 [back stamp in red] on Body. CONDITION: The right side of the forehead has a hairline, which has been reinforced on the inside with plaster. Two spots along the outer surface of the hairline appear to have spots where the plaster has filled in. The hairline seems to end at the outer corner of the right eye. Other than this, the bisque head is good, with high-quality painting and modeling of features. The glass eyes are original, but are now set. The wood & composition body has a replaced left leg and thigh, with a very close approximate replacement, which has some touchup to the thigh balljoint. Other than this, the body is good, with high quality finish and good stringing. The hands are good. The wig is soft and supple; a high-quality mohair wig. The costume is good. Other than the issues described, the doll bears only minor and otherwise expected age wear.
