Incredibly unusual and special doll. She is an unusual mold to begin with – having fancy hair. She is swaddled in a bunting instead of having a body. The bunting has original embellishments like lace trim, gold metallic thread, and pink ribbons and flowers. She also has a hat. She dates from about 1870 and came from a dealer in Europe. She measures 15 1/2 ins long by 4 1/2 ins wide. The head measures 5 ins. Tall by 4 ins wide. While not taken out of the bunting, shouldplate is undamaged on inspection. If you find otherwise, you are welcome to return. She is in good condition for her age. The silk swaddling fabric is faded at the front with some small tears in the silk. Super cute piece in wonderful condition. Some minimal paint loss and spotting on back. Strong silvering throughout with only a little loss at pike. A wonderful addition to any vintage collection.
