Rare High Brow China Doll with Cafe Au Lait Hair. 20 tall with original body (arms may be replaced but appear antique). Head and shoulderplate appear to be in good shape. Her jacket is antique but is fraying, the skirt is a reproduction made authentic to the old styles. No shoes, but look at those stitched toes! This doll has always been one of my favorites due to her sweet, calm expression. Please peruse all of the photos to get a better idea of what she is all about. Wonderful collaboration between two German doll makers. I have had a number of dolls where the body was marked HH and the head S&H This doll does not have a signed body. She stands 19 tall and she does have a few problems that you will see in the photos. There may be a very faint hairline on one side of her head near her eye area. With the lighted head it does not really show up. She is missing paint all around the top of her head and even a little line down one side but does not reach the eye area. Slight chipping around her neck. In the lighted photo there is a paint drip that cascades down the inside of her head to the neck. It is the same paint that is on both sides and in the middle where the eyes are housed. She has wonderful sleep eyes. Seems with the sleep eyes, paint was used on the outside of the eye area to seal the material around the eyes and no one was concerned with the drips Please see the inside photo of her head and the drip on one side. The dark spot in the lighted photo in the neck area is the base of the sleep eye system. One dark mark near one eye. Problems include the missing paint around the top of her head, her damaged foot and the wear to the front of one leg joint. She has other smaller wear spots. She is very, very tightly strung so much that her hands do not move Her legs and arms do move and she can hold a pose. There may be some repaint but cannot tell for sure. If so, they missed large areas. Her damaged foot looks to me, to be a tiny bit larger than her other, but the markings on both are the same. If it is a replacement part, whomever did it did a fabulous match, though why? With a damaged foot. She comes with her fab wig, pink dress, pink socks that are a bit too big, and her wonderful handmade head wreath. Sorry, no shoes or underwear. This is a beautiful doll looking for a new wonderful home:- I will miss her but it is time. Her head will be packed and diapered. She will be wrapped In bubble wrap and will packed plus she will be insured:-The starting price does not reflect what I feel is the value of this doll. It is merely a starting point. Lovely, uncommon 22 German Parian Doll with fancy hairstyle and molded collar. She has an antique kid body with Bisque arms. The body is stable and isnt leaking. Her outfit is antique and she has a couple layers of underclothes including an amazing corset. There is a pad in the back to give her extra shape to her rump just like the fashion of the time. Her shoes seem to be more recent replacements. The head/shoulderplate measures about 6.5 high and 5.5 wide. It is without chips or damage. It is of beautiful quality and design.
