Each handcrafted figure measures approximately 4 inches tall and features molded wax heads and limbs, hand-painted facial details, original crepe paper wings, fabric garments with lace trim, and twine shoulder straps. Their expressive poses and original handcrafted details make them an exceptional surviving pair of early German holiday decorations. German wax ornaments were produced in limited numbers and are considerably scarcer than later composition or plastic examples. Originally displayed on Christmas trees, feather trees, or Victorian holiday displays, these delicate Cupids are highly sought after by collectors for their artistry and fragile construction.
