Vintage Junghans Chronograph J88. Currently in good running condition, but I have not tested the watch for accuracy. The winding is smooth. The chronograph function is working well. The start/stop button is crisp. When resetting, the center second hand will slowly return instead of jumping back, but it will reset to zero. The service history of this chronograph is unkown, so I recommend servicing the watch for accurate time keeping and chronograph function. The acrylic crystal has some scratches. The dial and hands are in nice condition. The edge of bezel has some wear and in some places you can see brass under the nickle plating. The marks on the bezel are clear and visible and the bezel turns freely. The case back has many scratches but the inscription is still visible. The movement is gold plated and clean. The watch is in overall good condition and in my opinion it ages well after more than half century. Please let me know if you want to see additional photos or have any questions. VINTAGE WW2 Glashutte Tutima Luftwafte Pilots Watch German Military Chronograph

Very cool vintage Glashütte Tutima urofa caliber 59 German pilots Luftwafte flyback chronograph. A stunning example with matching numbers. A new rivet strap has just been fitted, this looks perfect for this watch. Overall brassing just adds to the look of these watches. I bought this without bezel and have fitted a bezel I had in stock which is the correct period Tutima bezel. The hands might be an old relume, it is certainly radium and looks great. Timekeeping has given me no cause for concern, all chrono functions are working faultlessly. Historical military watches like this are only going to go up in value over time so these represent a great investment you can wear and enjoy. Any more please ask. Many thanks for looking. I bought this with a dial that was either refinished or a Tutima service dial. I was lucky enough to find a fantastic original dial so the watch is now looking fantastic again. Description from the words of the watchmaker. The following details are not original: bezel, glass – mineral, back cover (stainless steel), buttons, crown – all production of the USSR. Completely original (from Tutima, Urofa 59) are: body (nickel plated), thread under the back cover in good condition. The dial is corporate, signed by Glashutte and the letter T. (Tutima) on a white background. Defects of the dial are clearly visible in the photo without glass. One leg of the dial is broken off, the other with soldering marks. Repair parts are all original, cocking of the clockwork spring and translation of the hands are done correctly and in full. All gears – from the winding drum to the anchor fork – are not repaired, with original axles, tribes and trunnions in native white stones (with the exception of a pink stone on the double gear bridge and brass, still German, anchor wheel bushings). All platinum is native, without repair. When cocking the clockwork spring, after touching the anchor fork to the horns, it makes the correct oscillatory movements with a good pull. Details of the chronograph movement are almost completely plundered, the remains are clearly visible in the photo. Very cool vintage Glashütte Tutima urofa caliber 59 German pilots Luftwafte flyback chronograph. Just look at this thing! The dial is absolutely perfect and the movement looks as good as you will ever find. One of my favourite Watches so far this year. A thing of beauty to hold in the hand, I love the way the case has aged and the remnants of red paint left on the pusher and bezel. The case which was originally thinly coated with nickel silver has brassed through to great affect. This one has not been around the trade or messed around with. The right subdial hand was replaced at some point in its life, the Germans strap is a replacement but looks really good and it suits the watch really nicely. The bezel is a little tight but I will not attempt to take it off or clean it. The watch is keeping excellent time and all chronograph functions are working well. Such a nice find this one, as always if you are not over the moon, just send it back to me within 30 days. Historical military watches like this are only going to go up in value over time so these represent a great investment you can wear and enjoy. Any more please ask. Many thanks for looking. WWI German Luftwaffe Pilot’s OMEGA CHRONOGRAPH 24h day/night military dial watch. This is the first time I have ever seen a 24h dial(day/night indications) chronograph! High grade lever chronometer movement, Breguet hairspring, precision regulator, hand finished and polished plate, adjusted to positions. Different gearing, with a 24 to 1 reduction! All the parts original! Nothing has been ever changed or replaced! Amazing enamel military dial depicting the Iron Cross Order and the Luftwaffe eagle badge. Perfect working order, keeping exact time. 24 hour dial watch. Has 24 hour dial notation on the dial. That means that the movement has to be altered so that the hour hand doesn’t go in 360 degrees around the dial in 12 hours, but rather in 24 hours. The hour hand, in my example, would only show 1900 hours. You’d know for sure that it was early evening. Conventional 12 hour watches have a “motion work” involving a 12 to 1 reduction in the gear train from the minute hand. 24 hour watches have a different gearing, with a 24 to 1 reduction. To be very technical, the motion work is the small 12-to-1 (or here a 24-to-1) reduction gear train that turns the timepiece’s hour hand from the minute hand. It is attached to the going train by the friction coupling of the cannon pinion, so the minute and hour hands can be turned independently to set the timepiece.
