For sale is a very rare late 1800’s antique German hand-made composite Belsnickle Santa and Candy Holder. This Belsnickle Santa is all original from head to base. He is dons a white fleece hooded coat tied together with a gold cord and bright red boots. He is in a walking position on a sparkly mica covered platform. The composite face is exquisitely detailed and the hands, boots, and body are also composite. This rare Santa antique is loaded with a bag of toys on his back (all original), a large package on his left shoulder, two Sarotti Chocolate Angels, and a Sarotti Chocolate Toy lantern in front. Santa is decorated with red ribbon, greenery and pine cones. This antique item is in excellent condition and the candy and bag has never been opened. The Belsnickle stands approximately 9.5″ T x 5″ W x 6 D. This is a very unique, hard to find item, and will enhance any Christmas display or collection. This Halbig German doll is in overall good condition. Body and head appear to have only normal aging with crazing, soiling, and discoloring. No cracks or holes. At least one finger, at first glance, appears to have been broken, but in fact it is original manufacture as the glazing covers the tip (First few photos were inadvertently taken with the head turned around to the back). Needs to be re-strung as most of the joints are very loose. Top of head is off, but only needs to be reglued, however, with it off the restringing might be easier to accomplish first.
