Offering a very fine example of a China head doll with so-called Greiner-style hair, made in Germany in the 1850’s. She is perfect with no damage or repair, and retains her original, sturdy cloth body with cream kid lower arms that I believe are well-done, long-ago replacements. She measures 19 tall and has a beautiful, translucent, pink tinted head & shoulder-plate. This lady has a white center part and her dark hair displays deep, wavy comb marks and exposed ears, with wavy curls around the back of her head. She has such an endearing expression on her face, with large brown eyes, heavy red lid line with black upper eyeliner, single stroke brows, coral blushed cheeks, and painted coral accents to her inner eye corners, nostrils, and slightly smiling, closed lips. She has two sew holes front and back of her plate and the plate still retains the sewn thread connecting her shoulder-plate to her original cloth body. There is no leaking & her body is sturdy. Her antique costume is of the same period as the doll; a precious, hand-sewn woolen 1850’s A-line style in deep burgundy or maroon, with 6 red silk buttons down the front, a red piped rounded collar, and red silk, sawtooth decorative lower hem. There is an attached lace collar. Her petticoat and pantalettes are a matched set with crocheted trim, and she wears an additional wool flannel petticoat with soft pink featherstitching at the hem. She has an antique chemise as well as striped stockings and black leather or oilcloth boots. She is just a wonderful and desirable early china with everything going for her! Her cameo necklace is included; I forgot to put it on the outside of her dress when I was taking her photos. The last photo I show her beside an antique doll’s marble-top vanity with decorative miniatures that are currently offered in another listing, to show how she could look in a vignette of her own. Really lovely DEP jumeau 19. I suspect she is German, her body is German, not French. In either case she is a darling. I’ve had this doll at least 10 years. I never expected her to have a hairline, but it looks like she may have had a forehead hairline repair when I backlit her. I didn’t know what to look for years ago. Her forehead APPEARS flawless from the outside. Her stationary eyes are antique, really beautiful. She wears an antique strawberry blond human hair wig in braids. She has no earring chips, wears new Swarovski glass earrings that match her costume. Unfortunately her compo body appears completely repainted but is strung tightly. She is also missing a piece of her left thumb. The good news is her 4 piece mariner costume from Gabriella is irredescent navy silk – really stunning. She wears vintage full slip and matching pantaloons. Socks are old, leather shoes are repro but really well done and match perfectly. She comes with stand and is display ready. I’ve taken into account her flaws when pricing her, she really is a stunner!

23 Schoneau Hoffmeister size 5 and 3/4 flawless bisque on good played with German body. Creamy bright bisque, blue threaded stationary eyes. Original brown mohair wig matches brows. Composition body may have some areas of repair/repaint but I can’t find any. Missing pinky finger on left hand. Antique costumes is really special. It features a full cotton underdress and a full lace oversize in cream lace. Vintage full slip and pantaloons. Old nice oilcloth shoes. Straw bonnet completes look. Holds pose, display ready, comes with stand.

Antique German bisque doll by Kestner. Bisque socket head is marked with: 168 14 Made in Germany 5. Working glass sleep eyes with painted upper and lower lashes with multi-stroke painted and molded eyebrows above. Open mouth with four molded square teeth. Ball jointed composition and wood body. She is wearing a very nice replacement dress with pretty laces. Button and loop closures at the back, matching hat, antique eyelet pantaloons, replacement vintage wig, pate, replacement cotton knit socks and antique oil cloth shoes. She is from a long time collector’s estate where she resided for decades in a beautifully appointed doll room. She would be lovely in your home! Antique German “Bisque Irish Lad” Candy Container dressed in Irish Costume. 16″ tall, candy opening (Lad’s waist) is 3 1/2″ wide, depth of container is 3. This whimsical deep red headed Irish Lad has a beautiful bisque head with mischievous blue glass eyes. He has beautifully detailed painted brows and lashes. The bisque head swivels, mouth is open with teeth showing. There is a hand painted shamrock on his cheek keeping with the Saint Patrick theme. His head is adorned with a lovely hat decorated with gold shamrocks sitting a top his deep red thick curly hair. His costume also continues with the same shamrock detail, absolutely adorable! He separates at the waist for candy retrieval, see photos. On the bottom of his right shoe (see photo) there is the original store label written in French with the word Paris clearly visible. Lovely antique German 23 Bisque, Schoenau & Hoffmeister 4500. This beauty has a bisque swivel socket head, glass brown sleep eyes, open mouth with 4 teeth. Her composition body is jointed at shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips, and knees. Fingers red lined and all intact. Exceptional bespoke costume in velvet, silk, and unusually lovely lace. Meticulous attention to detail, lined in silk. I have the fabric leftover from this expert creation that was custom made for her and will send it with her. Nice vintage petticoat and pantaloons, knit cream stockings, vintage shoes. Condition: Some composition coming off at the upper arms. Some chips and hairlines at composition neck area. ? Up for sale is this lovely little antique German cdv album which consists of 8 traditional ethnic costume cdv photos which are bound together accordion style.
