Antique German Art Deco porcelain half doll featuring a nude fan dancer with black bobbed hair. This striking half doll has a stylish 1920s-1930s look, with black bob hair, painted face, gold drop earrings, and a molded fan held behind her head. The fan has colorful Art Deco-style decoration in orange, green, black, and silver accents. Her pose is very dramatic and displayable, with one arm raised holding the fan and the other arm bent at the side. Marked with a molded number on the back/base area. The number appears to be 5453, but please review the close-up photos for the mark. Measures approximately 4.5 inches tall based on the ruler photo. Condition: antique condition with age-related wear. There is visible paint wear/rubbing to the black hair, light surface marks, small age spots, and normal manufacturing/opening holes around the base. This doll is a 17.5″ pre-1900 German Fashion doll by an unknown maker marked only with a “7. She has blue set eyes, open mouth with teeth, pierced ears and a vintage curly wig. She is dressed in a walking suit with bloomers, slip, socks and shoes. She has a very faint hairline above her eyebrow (see pictures) and small nicks on each earring hole which doesn’t detract from her overall beauty. Her stringing is a little tight so she may need to be restrung. She would make a nice addition to a collection for a doll enthusiast.

Set of 11 antique dolls. Many are marked Japan or Germany as shown in photos. 1 doll is a rubber-like material. She is fully dressed with synthetic “hair”. Open and close but must be manipulated to do so. The other 10 are bisque. All have their arms attached except one boy, whose arms are loose but included in the lot. The dolls have been gently wiped down but still have soiled areas as shown in photos. Please examine photos carefully for measurements and other information.

Based on inspection of photos, Gemini says. Up for sale is a highly collectible and remarkably scarce 11-inch antique German Täufling (Motschmann-type) baby doll dating from the mid-to-late 19th century, circa 1860s to 1870s. Hailing from the historic toy-making hub of the Sonneberg region, this fascinating character baby beautifully illustrates the historical design influence of early Japanese Ichimatsu dolls imported to Europe during the period. The doll features a solid-dome papier-mâché head with a distinct, sculpted topknot hair tuft, multi-toned painted hair, and deeply set dark glass side-glancing eyes that perfectly accentuate its expressive, pouting facial features. Built with a classic multi-part segmented body, it boasts a tightly packed, completely rigid muslin-fabric midsection connected to hard, molded papier-mâché extremities by its original, highly sought-after floating metal disc joints. It comes dressed in a beautiful vintage geometric grid-patterned romper featuring detailed needlework at the collar, complete with its original pair of coarsely woven tan knit stockings. Please review all provided photographs carefully to assess the doll’s estate-found condition. The dense papier-mâché head and molded limbs exhibit significant age-related wear, with extensive lifting, cracking, and peeling to the original painted factory finish across the face, the back of the skull, and notable areas of surface paint loss on the hands and forearms that expose the pinkish-tan base material underneath. Reassuringly, the original 1860s factory mold seams are clearly visible on the limbs, and all molded fingers remain structurally intact with no broken or missing digits. Crucially, the structural integrity of the articulated limbs remains excellent, as all matching metal washer discs and central iron pins are completely original, tightly hand-stitched, and entirely unreplaced. The densely stuffed torso shows expected age-toning and minor moisture spotting (foxing) consistent with its great age, but remains completely solid, firm, and structurally sound. This is a marvelous, structurally complete example of early German toy history that would make a stellar restoration project or standout display piece for any serious antique doll collection. Two photos were taken of the face under ultraviolet light to inspect for repainting. We are not experts at interpretation of these photos. Although Gemini saw no evidence modern repaints, we offer no opinion on this matter. This doll was stored in a smoke-free and pet-free home. Please inspect the photographs. This doll will be wrapped in tissue and cushioned with kraft paper in a new heavy duty box.

This 20-inch (50 cm) character doll features a genuine antique bisque head fitted with a highly sought-after, functional “flirty eye” mechanism. Head Markings:The back of the head is clearly incised with the authentic KR six-pointed star logo, followed by “SIMON & HALBIG”, the mold number “121”, and the size marking “50” at the base of the neck. Features & Mechanism:Flirty & Sleep Eyes: The gravity-driven eye mechanism is fully intact and functional. The eyes successfully sleep (open and close) when laid down, and they smoothly “flirt” (move side-to-side) when tilted from left to right. Expression: Features the classic molded open mouth with two tiny porcelain upper teeth and a beautifully molded tongue. The Left Eye: Please note there is visible age-related surface deterioration/crazing to the outer lens/iris covering of the left eye, causing a cloudy, textured appearance. Perfect original wax eyelids. Brown wig (Synthetic, not original). The ball-jointed body is composition and is in excellent original condition with minor signs of wear to hands.
