Presented is a decorative German silver server made around the turn of the 20th century. This piece is very much in a classical Dutch silver motif. The openwork base of the server has a raised genre scene at the top. The twisted rope handle has a large man and woman design at the tip. The back is marked 800 for the silver purity and has the German crescent moon and crown symbols. This piece is in fabulous condition. The designs are crisp and there are no dents, no breaks, no splits, no monograms, no monogram removals and no repairs. The server measures 10 inches long and weighs 90.2 grams or 3.2 ounces. It has its original finely pierced paper trim interior. The top shows a Dutch boy wearing wooden shoes, smoking a long pipe. He is surrounded by a windmill and a sailboat. The sides are blue fluted paper. The ornament is in good condition.. With age discoloration and some darkening on the sides from use. It has some tears in the fluted paper sides. The interior is clean.
