Item Overview: Up for sale is a beautiful, late 19th to early 20th-century antique German bisque socket head character doll. Measuring approximately 9.5 inches tall, this cabinet-sized doll makes an exquisite display piece for any antique doll collector. Head Markings & Construction: The back of the porcelain socket head features a crisp, incised factory size classification mark reading 2 / 1. (Size 2 over 1). There are three factory-made ventilation holes present at the top of the crown. The head shows scattered remnants of original amber-colored glue and plaster residue where her wig pate was historically anchored. The bisque has a smooth, creamy complexion with beautifully painted multi-stroke eyebrows, upper/lower delicate eyelashes, and rosy cheeks. Eyes & Facial Features: This doll features stunning, stationary blue glass inset eyes permanently secured inside the skull via original plaster of Paris mounds. Costume & Condition: She comes dressed in a period-style royal blue long-sleeve dress accented with an intricate, wide cream-colored lace overlay collar, matching sleeve cuffs, and bottom trim. Her ensemble is completed with a coordinating bonnet/hat, a light silk-ribbon neck tie, and black painted footwear. Condition Details: Bisque socket head appears free of hairline fractures, cracks, or visible surface restorations (please see photos). Natural, minor vertical factory mold trace visible at the lower neck seam line from the manufacturing process. The dress shows normal vintage aging, minor fabric dust, and light patina to the lace corresponding with its age. Please review all high-resolution images closely as they serve as the definitive description of the item’s condition. There are a couple black spots on the front of the dress. She also has jointed arms and legs.

This I believe is at least 100yrs old I know where my mother acquired it from.. She was the nurse who stayed at the time with a 90 yr old lady it was in her family.. To see this in person is just amazing at the quality and detail this is made out to be. I feel like it is so rare it belongs museum. Feel free to contact me with any questions. This Antique German Papier Mache Dog Candy Container features a unique design with glass eyes and a removable head, standing at 14 inches tall. Made of papier-mâché and mohair materials, this original antique piece originates from Germany. The multi-color paint and hair seems to be in good condition to me given the age I can take any other picture or if you want thanks.

Gorgeous German bisque head Kestner doll – no mold number, has a well-known look of mold 146. She is 27 tall, excellent condition bisque head with beautiful pale color. She has all typical typical features of famous Kestner dolls: thickly painted eyebrows, full cheeks and a pleasant mouth with upturned corners. Her mouth is barely open to show four beautiful upper teeth. She has blue sleeping eyes with painted upper and lower lashes, waxed lids. NO cracks, chips or hairlines (lighted to check for hairlines). Back of her bisque head incised. L ½ Made in 15 ½. Beautiful bisque, nicely blended rose petal blush cheeks, cute double chin, nice nose with red accents. Her bisque is in excellent condition, without cracks, chips, nor hairlines. She has a vintage human hair wig with hairpins. High quality ball jointed wood/composition body, stamped in red Excelsior D. The body has original paint and finish with typical wears at joints, please review all pictures. The body considered in good condition for the age. She is dressed in a lovely vintage cotton dress and 2-piece undies. She has beautiful shoes, stamped 6. The shoes could be antique, in very good condition. Vintage black socks have holes. Welcome to A Century of Dolls New York. This is this a superb example of a large 15 Frozen Charlie with desirable pink tint face with deeply molded facial features with painted hair wisps. This Frozen Charlie sometimes referred to as Bath Baby Dolls has a China porcelain body with detailed eye painting. Made in Germany it has the rarer brown eyes and the wonderful wisps of hair with detailed brushstrokes. This all bisque Bath Baby Frozen Charlie doll is in excellent condition, he has no touch ups or breaks or cracks. A wonderful example for your collection. The Antique doll is a 25″ Armand Marseille “Alma German bisque and cloth doll. The head and arms are bisque with a cloth body. The eyes are glass and the doll has an open mouth with visible teeth. “Alma”, “3”, and marked on the back of the neck. There are no breaks, cracks or repairs that I can find in the bisque parts, no wear and tear on the cloth body other than a random rogue thread here and there. Very little to no wear and tear on the hair and clothing, overall good condition considering the age of the doll. Could use a little cleanup on the arms. This doll is an antique item and is “as is” with wear and tear due to age. Additional photos can be provided ahead of final sale if requested. I do my best to inspect and disclose all wear and tear, damage, and known history with each item listed prior to listing.

Beautiful Heinrich Handwerck mold 109-13-3/4 H5 German bisque doll with pierced ears and huge brown almond sleep eyes. There are no cracks, chips, or repairs to the bisque head. She does not have teeth. She has her original antique human hair wig but it definitelyneeds styling. She is on her original jointed composition pull string mama body that was painted. I did not test the mama mechanism and don’t plan to. She has all her fingers and toes but a couple fingers looked reglued or restored which is why they probably painted it. We will never know if the body stamp is under the paint. She is nicely strung and her arms hold a pose. She is wearing pantaloons, chemise and cream lace dress with maroon velvet accents with matching bonnet. Her socks and dhoes are vintage. Please review all photos and ask questions.
