Antique, vintage 8” small German, bisque, Christmas fairy doll, angel, tree topper. Head is antique/body is only vintage. Very pretty, bisque head, Christmas, fairy doll. Antique, bisque head with glass eyes, open mouth with little teeth. It is rather sparse & glued onto her head. The wings are not original to her. They are made from aluminium with silver glitter & they can just slip in & out of the back of her dress. Possibly a small, makers mark on the back of her head but I cannot make it out. She has a crack line at the bottom of the right side of her neck. She stands almost 8” tall & weighs approx. Crack on base of neck (right side) hair is rather sparse, body is not original to her plus general signs of age, use & wear.

This is the most cheerful googly ever! Who could resist those chubby cheeks, side glancing blue glass eyes and watermelon smile with little pearly teeth? She is just a joy! I first saw Our Fairy in the first Coleman’s THE COLLECTOR’S ENCYCLOPEDIA OF DOLLS, page 481. I knew I had to own one of these treasures. She was made in 1914 in Germany for Louis Wolf and Company. She is 5 tall with stationary side glancing eyes, original wig, and most importantly, her original arms. When you do locate one of these hard to find dolls, they often have Kewpie arms as a replacement for the specific character arms that originally came with the doll. She has no damage or repairs, and is well strung. Fairy is dressed in an old watermark taffeta bow with antique flowers in her hair. This little rascal will brighten up your day!
