For your consideration is. An antique late 19th c. Silver sewing cased set by Behrnd Hermann. Displayed in original case, pink silk and plush lined. Comprising of a needle case, a thimble, a knife and a needle. Needle, thimble and case are entirely made of silver; knife with gild metal blade. Needle and case are hallmarked with the’Crown and Crescent’ and’800′ for the German standard and with the silversmith initials’HB’ for’Behrnd Hermann’. Thimble is marked 800. I cannot find markings on the knife. Condition: tools are very good preserved, some wear of gild on the metal. Box has traces of age and time, the silk has some tears, the plush is loss. Please, be sure to view all photos carefully as they are included as part of the item description. 5 3/4″ x 4″ box ; knife is 4 1/2″ ; case is 2 3/4″; needle is 3 1/8″ and thimble is 7/8″ x 5/8 d. Offering a beautiful antique ebony black painted bisque socket head doll I discovered resting peacefully in a box at a local estate sale. She is made by Hermann Steiner, early 1900’s and incised on the back made in Germany HS 13. She stands 20 inches stall and has no chips, cracks or hairlines on her bisque socket head. She has a tiny little rough spot on her left nostril, not damage, looks like a factory flaw occurring when the bisque was fired. Just want to point out. Her composition ebony black painted body is in nice condition with the exception of the stringing is loose and at some point need restrung. She looks original to me, but might have touchups/repaint here and there.. She loves to sit and pose on a bed or chair, but to loose to pose on a stand. She has her original short caracul type black mohair wig w/ pate and old bow on top in lovely condition, stunning amber glass eyes set in place and her original painted coral lip color that has some fading/rubs, as most old dolls do. Dressed in a beautiful Edwardian style white dress with Empire waist, mutton sleeves and lace throughout. Antique bloomers pinned on, antique shoes and socks – shoes are a little rough in some spots and ties frail. Feel free to ask questions. She is an old antique doll with some flaws, but radiates a genteel southern girl charm. Ready for her next travel adventure.
