Solid Dome 13 Hertel Schwab 151 German Bisque Head Character Baby Doll, Antique

Lovely antique German bisque head baby doll by Hertel Schwab…. Wonderful facial expression on this solid dome head.. Original sleep eyes retain original eyelid paint/wax…. Original paper mache’ body retains 100% original paint and patina with red outlining between the fingers and toes…. Body has light overall soiling, more-so on the lower arms and hands which were not protected by clothing…. NOTE: There is what appears to be a flake along the socket edge, as shown in the last three photos, however this is a factory defect, not damage, as the flesh-colored paint runs over the edge…. From a non-smoking and pet-free home…. Please study all photos, feel free to ask questions, and be sure to check out my other interesting antique auctions! I always carefully stuff these bisque heads to protect the fragile glass eyes.

Antique German 16 Hertel Schwab Mold # 136 Bisque Head Compo Body Dressed Doll

Antique German 16 Bisque Head Compo Body Dressed Doll by Hertel Schwab Mold Number 136. Pretty Faced, Hertel Schwab Mold #136 bisque head, on composition body, Blue glass, working sleep eyes, with some hair eye lashes, feathered eyebrows, painted lower lashes, eye and nostril dots, open mouth with four upper teeth, blushed cheeks. Replaced, curly blond mohair wig with pate. Dressed in a replaced, “Victorian style” green velveteen dress, vintage hat, vintage one-piece undie, antique, black crocheted stockings and antique leather center tie shoes. Bisque head is free of any chips cracks or hairlines. Facial painting and complexion are lovely and complete – one area of cheek is rubbed. Glass sleep eyes are working and free of cracks. Eyes have a few remaining original “hair” lashes. Genuine mohair wig is a good fitting replacement in an appropriate style. Composition body shows moderate wear and has the original finish throughout. Tiny amount of crazing, tiny chips and cracks – not major. One hand is a replacement. Stringing is fairly tight – arms hold a pose. She does better with a stand. Costume is cute – hat is vintage and in good condition. Stockings and shoes are both antique and in very good condition. Undies have a rip in front and close with a pin because button is missing. Dress is a newer replacement and should be replaced with a nice antique dress. Green fabric is stiff, faded in back and sleeves are ripped at ends because they don’t fit her arms well. MARKED: Made in Germany 136/2. This is a Big Wonderful 24 Toddler doll made in Germany by Hertel & Schwab, marked 151 on the back of his head. He has excellent facial detail, brown set eyes, open mouth teeth and a dome head with painted hair. He come dressed in a Taylor made Mariner outfit to include: 2 pc suite, tie, undergarments, black stockings and leather boots. I find no damage, repairs or hairlines to his bisque, the Antique jointed toddler body is tightly strung, has all finger and toes with a repair to the left hip, the body shows a re-glaze and looks good. He is clean and and display ready. Coming from a smoke and pet free Estate.

Welcome To OUR Store. Today we would like to present One of many items from our shop. 16 German Doll By Kestner 167 and 8 Baby by Hertel Schwab 152. This Lovely Kestner doll came to me with her baby Sister. The baby is 8 inch long and made by Hertel Schwab Mold 152. Kestner Child Doll is 16 tall. She has No Damages to her bisque socket head or to her body. Markings to her head: H made in Germany 12 167. She has original blue sleep working eyes, with painted eyelids, open mouth with four upper teeth, original Kestner plaster pate with old vintage ash blond wig. She has original Glaze paint missed during firing at the corner of her nose. Also she has a minor factory inherent mold flaw at the top of her forehead. Just a little spot of slight excess of the bisque. It is under the wig not really noticeable. I have examined it under a light and it is not damaged. The doll is in her original German old wood and composition ball jointed body. Body is in a good shape but professionally repainted, done well. She wears dress all old period original clothes, lovely factory original dress with factory made set of undergarments. She has little lace hat with big bow and ties. She wears cotton socks with vintage sandals. Her baby sister comes with her; she has socket bisque head with old paper mache body. She has sleep eye, pate and tiny wig. Baby wears in all old clothes include old vintage dress with diaper. Please let us know with any questions. Rare Antique German 16 Bisque. Googly Hertel & Schwab 172 Doll. Solid dome bisque socket head. Modelled forlock (peak) and side curls just above the ears. Fine painted brush-stroke hair. Round brown glass googlie sleep eyes. Accented nostrils & eye corners. Wide closed mouth watermelon smile. Modelled dimples at the sides of the mouth. Condition of head: Old faint hairline going from neck socket up to into hair. (hairline has been stabilized from inside head). Original chubby toddler Composition and wooden ball-jointed body with fine detailing. Body has normal wear for age. Antique wool Navy blue sailor suit. Antique leather shoes (marked) and socks. Except for the faint hairline, this. 16 inch tall doll. Is in excellent condition.
