ULTRA RARE FLORENTINE SOUVENIR!! Made by Italian metal artisans in style of old Peruzzi, Cini, and Coppini masters. Metal appears as German Silver aka Nickel Silver (0% silver content). Bracelet measures 6 1/2 in length (end to end, including wide J hook style clasp). Bracelet features five rectangular cast metal wide panel links. Links measure 1 3/8″ in length (top to bottom) and 1″ in width (side to side). Links showcase 3D renaissance figures and symbols soldered to ornate open cutwork panels. Figures consist of famous Andrea della Robbia’s bambini (swaddled infant), musical cherub, and winged lion or griffin. Symbols consist of Florentine Fleur de Lis and the Medici Coat of Arms. Soldered jump rings securely connect panel links. Weighs 42 Grams. Circa Late 19th Century – Early 20th Century (1890 – 1930). Etched MADE IN ITALY. Metal tested, magnetic. Up for sale, a 1967 Vox Bulldog in good working order, professionally maintained and ready for stage and studio work. One of Vox’s top-tier offerings from 1966-68, the Bulldog was one of the most elegant, imaginative, and just plain fun Vox guitar designs, leaning heavily on Mosrite for inspiration. With a German Carve top, trio of single coil pickups, and a responsive Bigsby-esque vibrato unit, the Bulldog could stand toe to toe with any Fender or Mosrite in its day. The pickups have a surprising amount of roundness and tonal depth, with clear, bell-like top end and twang to spare. The guitar weighs in at 8lbs 3oz. Professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, we’ve dialed in this Bulldog for optimal intonation and action with fresh 11-50 roundwound strings. The neck has a medium C shaped profile that borders on the more slender side of things with an ebony fretboard and 25 scale length. The guitar has been refretted with slender vintage-style wire, and the frets show virtually no wear. The original aluminum nut measures 1 9/16 in width, and the guitar features a zero fret as well. On the headstock, the original plastic overlay with “Vox” logo is in great shape, and the original open back Grover tuners are present too, turning very smoothly and holding pitch as they should, even with liberal use of the vibrato. The bridge has been replaced with a more conventional Gibson-style ABR-1 variety, allowing for greater stability and tonal transfer from the strings to the body. The vibrato is the perfect middle ground between Mosrite and Bigsby, and the spring has a very smooth and quick response. For subtle pitch shifts and warbles, this vibrato performs well and works in tandem with the Grover tuners and upgraded bridge for very reliable and gig-worthy performance. Cosmetically, this instrument shows an assortment of nicks and dings on the body, with buckle rash on the back and prominent vertical finish checking on the gloss Sunburst, extremely common on’60s Vox instruments. The neck profile has black overspray concealing palm wear down to the bare wood on the profile edges. The finish on the profile has been buffed smooth for a comfortable playing experience, and this Vox is structurally sound with zero cracks.
