This is an antique doll made in Germany probably in mid to late 1800s. The body is jointed and made of soft kid leather and is stuffed with what appears to be cork. The body style is consistent with similar dolls made by Armand Marseille. There is an indistinct number that appears to be 102 printed on the belly, which was used by Armand Marseille and several other 19th century German doll makers. The head and hands may be a composite material and the feet are cloth. The doll has an adorable face, that I have not seen other examples of. Her hair is moulded brown and a bit curly and no ears are showing. The head has hand painted hair, eyelashes, eyebrows, and lips. The eyes close when doll lays back and they appear to be made of wood and the irises are painted brown. The mouth is open and shows two white teeth. The head extends as plates over the upper chest and back. The doll is about 18 inches long. The doll has on antique clothing, including a blue striped smock, a white linen under dress, and white pantaloons. This antique doll has beautiful features and displays nicely. She is something of a mystery as to who made her, perhaps because she is so old (it has always been in my family). She is in relatively good condition with no major damage. There is some tape around the leg joints which appears to have been used to prevent the cork from leaking out of the joints. The tape is not being used to hold it together. The cloth feet have some holes. The head has some scuffs. The clothing is in good condition except the pantaloons which have some holes. The sale is for the doll plus the clothing.

ANTIQUE GERMAN BLACK FOERST CATHEDRAL STYLE SHELF/MANTEL CUCKOO CLOCK LATE 1800’S RARE. This is an attractive Antique German Black Forest Cathedral Style shelf/mantel cuckoo clock a must have for ones collection. The clocks color is best described as a rare stunning light golden brown with hints of reddish-orange. This clock has amazing hand carved peaks, columns and scrolls. The clock measures 26 inches tall from it’s tallest peak, 14 inches wide from it’s widest peaks and 8 inches deep. The dial measures 6 inches in diameter. This clock comes with it’s key. The clock has Large highly designed. Detailed hand carved bone hands. The clock has an antique big flappy winged cuckoo bird sitting on it’s wooden perch. The bellows are covered in lambskin leather. The movement is a spring driven 50 hour brass movement. This movement has been cleaned and serviced, oiled and lubricated. The case has been cleaned and waxed. This is a working clock that ticks tocks cuckoo’s and gongs as they should.
