Stunning antique Belton type doll with almond shaped stationery eyes. She has a fashion type leather body with some tears that have been repaired with strips of leather. This is not unusual for an antique doll of this type. Her head however is perfect! She wears a size 10 Bramble & Pinegar mohair wig. That is so lovely! With long sausage curls and a braid across the top. She has a hand beaded evening bag and a hand tatted hankie. Her ensemble is a mauve and dusty pink taffeta in two pieces. The top is fitted with gathered sleeves and a basque waist, there are hooks up the back. There is a lovely rolled gold Victorian brooch at her neck with what appears to be cabochon rock crystal and an amethyst in the center. Her skirt is nipped in at the waist and full in the traditional Victorian style with oodles and layers of ruching all the way around. Her unders consist of cotton eyelet camisole, pantaloons, and half slip. She also has a brassiere and a bum roll! To make her clothes fit her properly. Her socks and shoes are black. Her beaded bag is stunning, and in surprisingly good condition! Her straw hat is flocked with velvet violets and tattered netting. This is one of the prettiest German dolls Ive seen. Shoulder plate 5.5 wide. She does have repair to her leather body. Please be aware of this. She has French massive, heavy body. Almost entirely made of wood, excluding the composite body. There are soil chips that are often inherent in French bodies. Marking – number 13. Bisque has no chips or cracks. The rocker was repaired (it was deformed and the eyes were very squinted) and reinstalled. Ears are not pierced. The dress is antique. Height is 28 or 70 cm.
