The fruit hangs down and on the opposite side of the clip is a candle holder. The original peach colored paint has worn away, and the pansy flower and leaf have faded. The clip is a burnt orange color.

This is a very rare set of Peach and GoldLustreware made in Germany around 1900. It is even more stunning in person. According to an expert, these types of sets, variations were made for about 50 years and used primarily because small packages of dry goods were not available until into the 1900s. It was inconvenient to open a 50lb bag of flour whenever a cup was needed, so small amounts were stored on a kitchen shelf or in a cabinet. Set includes the following: 5 Large cannisters are 8 tall: Tea, Oatmeal, Sugar, Coffee, Rice. 2 Decanters are 9 tall: Oil, Vinegar. 6 Small cannisters are 4 3/4 tall: Nutmeg, Cloves, Allspice, Ginger, Pepper, Cinnamon. Salt is 6 3/4 tall. Set is missing one large container, probably flour. Extra lid (cracked) is included. Vinegar decanter has a small bubble defect that does not penetrate the container. Lovely sugar frosted peach on a candle clip ornament. Pretty peachy pink colored peach is frosted with fine mica frosting. Attached are waxy paper wired leaves. Peach is attached to a candle clip that has the candle holder. Is 3 1/2 L with clip. Some paint and frosting loss. A wonderful addition to any vintage collection.
