Just one of inkFrog’s. Antique German Slider Photo Locket Silver Charm Pendant Lucky Clover Woman. This is a lovely antique Art Nouveau sliding photo locket pendant or charm. The front and back are identical, with 4-leaf clover shapes, and a woman’s face in profile. The locket is made of brass with a heavy layer of silver. One side is in excellent condition, and the other side shows some tarnished areas, and some light scratches to the woman’s cheek. The little tabs protruding from each piece are meant to either turn the locket (top tab), or hold the piece in place (bottom tab). The bottom tab is a little short, so it does not keep the top piece from sliding in the opposite direction. The locket holds an interior round photo frame with two photos of a man and woman in period dress. All three pieces are hinged together from the suspension loop. It dates to around 1900. The overall condition is good for its age, with no dents or major scratches. There are stamps to the suspension loop, front and back of the locket, and to the tabs. I believe it is the maker’s initials, which appear to be “EM”. It measures 1 and 1/16 inches wide by 1 and 3/8 inches tall. The piece can be worn as a pendant, or attached to an antique charm bracelet. Payments are due within 5 days.
