This is a set of 17 antique/vintage glass Christmas ornaments, handmade and hand-painted by unidentified German and Polish artisans in the 1930s. The ornaments come in a variety of shapes and styles, and feature multicolor retro designs with embellishments. They were designed to hang on feather trees and are part of a vintage Christmas items product line. The ornaments were produced using the art glass technique of hand blowing glass. There are many which are blown without a mold, eg, indents, musical, urns, mushrooms, lg bell w/clapper, which require a high level skill to do so. They are in very good condition but might have scratches due to their age. All are hand made and hand painted. All sales are final.

Such a deluxe candy container! This ethnic girl, perhaps Russian or Polish, stands atop a fabric topped box that when opened would have held a sweet treat for a very fortunate child! This bisque doll with wood torso and wooden arms and legs is made like the German mechanicals that were coming out of Sonnenburg, Germany from the late 1800’s to early 1900’s. I especially like her painted blue shoes with red straps! Her socket head is by Schoenhau and Hoffmeister, whose heads were used on so many mechanical toys and candy containers. Her silk skirt is shredding, but still lovely. It would be an easy fix if you decided to replace it. She has a white blouse, blue vest, painted shoes, blue glass eyes and original mohair wig in a long braid. Her antique basket and candy box bottom have been added. This is a large candy container, with a pretty German doll, that stands out in a collection! Thank you for your interest and please see the other fascinating things coming out of my collection!
