DIMENSIONS WITHOUT THE FRAME: 20″ H x 23″ H. Heinrich Heuser (1887 – 1967) was active/lived in Germany. Heinrich Heuser is known for Post-Impressionist style, paintings and prints. Born: 1887 – Stralsund, Germany. Heinrich Heuser was a German artist who began drawing motifs from Stralsund and the island of Rügen in 1906. He studied at the academies of fine arts in Munich and Weimar from 1907 to 1910, and joined the Berlin Secession in 1911. In 1917, his works were traded by the Berlin gallery owner and art dealer Paul Cassirer, and in 1919 he became a founding member of the Darmstadt Secession. During the National Socialist regime, his works were declared “degenerate” and removed from museums, and he was banned from working professionally. After the war, he joined the Munich Secession and became chairman of the newly founded artists’ association “Der Ring” in Berlin in 1951. He is known for his Post-Impressionist style paintings and prints. The painter and graphic artist trained in Munich and Weimar. In 1919 he settled in Berlin and performed works in German theaters. Museums in Mannheim, Dortmund and Szczecin own works by the artist. Heinrich Heuser passed away in 1967.

What an absolutely fabulous RARE Antique German Dresden Miniature Portrait Candy Container Christmas Ornament Box a true treasure from the past features a shepherdess with a pair of lambs sitting on a rock in a pastoral scene under glass with finely detailed paper leaves mirrored border interior has a foil double cornucopia with wreath and acorn against a pale blue and pink interior also see through glass cover circa 1900, an estate sale find! The miniature is on paper did use a loop, does not look like a lithograph does not have the dot matrix pattern to the design, but maybe an etching or water color. Condition is good for this lovely old box with wear appropriate for age and use some loss to the paper trim decoration, speckles of black under the glass with the figural scene, staining to the interior see photos. Measuring approximately 2-3/4″ across by 1″ high, marked in ink inside on the pink possibly Germany or France not sure, please shop our store for more treasures!! Antique German Litho Miniature Portrait in ormolu frame. Portrait appears to be litho on paper or metal. Portrait is NOT Handpainted or hand enameled. Damage the flowers on the ormolu frame. DAMAGED broken border on the frame. Small section shows repair-glue back and will likely break off under excessive pressure. Jiggles in the frame. Although the glass is quite loose fitting, it is in excellent condition. Dust and debris under the glass. Rust and wear to the back of the frame. Frame : 7.75 inch approx. Until recently, considered a “mystery doll” known as the “Coburg lady” the doll has recently been attributed to Alt, Beck and Gottschalck, circa 1885.
