THE OLD CLOCK IS COMPLETE AS YOU CAN SEE , AND SHOULD BE A RELATIVELY EASY RESTORATION AND REPAIRS. MANY MAY NEED THIS FOR PARTS , BEWARE THOSE PARTS GUYS ARE RUTHLESS! YES WE ARE A CLOCK SHOP , BUT WE HAVE SO MANY TO RESTORE AND FIX FOR CUSTOMERS , WE THOUGHT WE WOULD OFFER IT UP HERE FOR YOU GUYS…. THE CASE IS IN VERY GOOD SOLID CONDITION , NOTHING LOOSE OR REPAIRED THERE , WORST THING IS THE WHITE PAINT WHY DONT THEY MOVE THE CLOCK BEFOR THE PAINT!! (we see it often) THE TWO INSPECTION DOORS ON THE SIDES OPEN AND CLOSE FINE AND LATCH. THE BACK FITS AS IT SHOULD AND SPORTS TWO COIL GONGS AS SHOWN AND STAMPED SMALL “GERMANY”. THE INLAY IS AWESOME EXCEPT FOR WHERE IT IS MISSING – AT BOTTOM LEFT. THE DIAL IS EXCEPTIONAL , ORIGINAL ROMAN NUMERALS INTACT AND HAND CARVED BONE HANDS! THE LEAF ON THE LEFT HAS BEEN REPAIRED , BUT I BELIEVE ALL OTHER CARVED FILAGREE ON THE FRONT IS REPAIR FREE…. THE TOP ON THE OTHER HAND , HAS NUMEROUS REPAIRS AND NEEDS TO BE RESTORED PROFESSIONALLY. THE CUCKOO DOORS AND WOOD BIRDS ARE ORIGINAL ALSO. THE MOVEMENT IS COMPLETE WITH CHAINS , 3 WEIGHTS , BELLOW WIRES , HAMMERS ETC. IT IS DUSTY AND COULD USE A GOOD CLEANING AND OILING. TWO OF THE THREE RATCHETS NEED ADJUSTED OR REPAIRED , THEY SLIP…. ALL OTHER GEARS AND LEVERS LOOK NORMAL AND DON’T SEE ANY UNUSUAL WEAR AT THE PIVOTS thats because its an old German! THE SCREW MOUNTS ARE GOOD AND NOT STRIPED OUT , AND THE TOP OF THE BELLOWS STILL HAVE THE ORIGINAL WIRES. THE ORIGINAL PENDULUM IS SHOWN , HAD BEEN BROKE AND REPAIRED…. ITS PRETTY CLEAN THE WAY IT IS , SO FIND A GOOD WOOD GUY FOR THE FILAGREE , AND GET THE MOVEMENT LINED OUT , AND THE BELLOWS REPAIRED AND YOU ARE SET!! ANTIQUE GERMAN BLACK FOREST FURDERER JAEGLER QUAIL TRAIN STYLE CUCKOO CLOCK 1800’S RARE! This clock is a stunning large clock a must have for one’s collection. This is a Black Forest cuckoo Quail clock easily from the late 1800’s. This clock’s color can best be described as a very rich walnut brown with hints of golden reddish orange that catches everyone’s eye. This black forest clock has amazing highly carved detail on a beautiful piece of wood that intricately describes it’s vines and leaves. This clock has it’s Quail movement that ticks, tocks, cuckoo’s and gongs like it should. The Quail (red bird) cuckoo’s 1 at the 15 min, 2 at the 30 min, 3 at the 45 min and 4 at the 60 min. The cuckoo(grey bird) cuckoo’s the number of times the hour. The movement is original to the clock. This is a working clock and in great condition for it’s age. This clocks case has been cleaned and serviced, oiled and lubricated. The case has been cleaned and waxed. The bellows have new lamb/goat skin. The clocks hands are beautifully highly carved from bone. This clock has it’s big plump grey cuckoo bird with it’s flappy wings that sits on it’s wooden perch and it’s big plump red quail bird that sits on it’s wooden perch. The birds are original to the clock and the paint detail is in excellent shape for it’s age. The measurement’s are as followed. The clock is 24 inches tall and 18 1/2 inches wide and 7 1/2 inches deep. From the very top to the bottom of the pendulum is 27 1/2 inches long. The clocks Face measures 6 inches in diameter. This clock comes with 3 antique weights and it’s original antique matching pendulum.
