This gorgeous blue eyed antique bisque French Market Belton doll was probably made by Sonnenberg in Germany and she has the French EJ Jumeau Face! She is a 12 doll and her body is fully jointed. She has an excellent bisque head that is closed and flattened on the top with two holes for stringing with some wear on the holes. There is a tiny bump like a speck of plaster on the very top of her head and the tiniest of specks on her complexion, otherwise perfect. The back of the bisque head is only incised with a single number 4. Her body is in excellent condition and tightly strung with slight unevenness to the paint, but good coloring. Her face is expertly painted with dainty lashes and multi stroke eyebrows. She has perfect pantaloons, satin stockings and pink shoes. Her excellent pale pink silk dress has a silk overlay trimmed in hand stitched pearls. You can see the tiniest stitch on the underside for each pearl individually! Her real wool felt hat trimmed with silk ribbons is newly made by me, artist Elsa Jo Ellison. She has a genuine antique late 1900’s French Bebe Pin, that was Paris old store stock and she is the first to wear it. She stands about 13.5 to the top of her hat. There is another beautiful silk dress that fits this doll for sale in a separate listing. It is pink and ivory striped. From my smoke free home. This is a wonderful antique French face Belton Sonnenberg standing 22 inches tall. She is on her early ball jointed body and her bisque is beautiful with no chips cracks or repairs. She has a stunning face with large almond shaped deep brown set paperweight eyes, exquisite painting, and closed mouth that is delicately outlined and shaded. Her quality of bisque is exceptional and her coloring is stunning in person. Her eyes are like brown velvet, soft and luminous. This gorgeous girl has an extra long human hair wig that falls in curls past her waist. She wears an exquisite high quality seamstress made dress of vintage lace with antique ribbon and ribbon work trim. It has attached lining and closes in the back with hooks and eyes. It fits her perfectly. Underneath she wears antique slip and Pantaloons. She has crochet socks and leather shoes with ribbon ties. Her composition body is in good condition, it is strung a bit loosely but she will stand freely. She has been restrung at some point. She has some old repaint to her forearms and hands. The paint/finish shows scratching and scuffing, as expected. She is incised 137 14. Her bisque is excellent and beautiful with no damage or repair. Small in the making pimple on her temple, and some wear on the nose. Photos do not do her justice, she is stunning. She has the most beautiful face and a lovely soft expression.
