It is German print, made right after WW1, in the extreme Art Deco period. It is also a rather rare find, as few were printed. The colors and quality is spectacular. Print is under glass in old period wood frame, measuring approx. 16 1/2 inch, by about 13 1/2 inch. Frame is tight and ready to hang. The paint on the frame does have age wear, with scuffs and some paint loss. The print is in excellent condition, with no fading or damage. Really a beautiful, stunning old piece. Cost on this, to any of the 50 U. I describe all I see and all I know about each item. I try to use 12 pictures on all my auctions, trying to show all areas of every item. THE ERZGEBIRGE REGION OF GERMANY AND ITS MOUNTAIN COMMUNITIES IS THE BIRTHPLACE OF WOODCRAFTING USING THE LATHE AND SKILLED CARVING THAT CREATED NUTCRACKERS, SMOKERS, PYRAMIDS, SCHWIBBOGENS AND TOYS LONG REGARDED AS UNMATCHED IN QUALITY AND DESIGN. ANTIQUE & VINTAGE PYRAMIDS. Each figure used in our pyramid collection represents a Biblical nativity character handcrafted in charming detail and placed on a rotating platform driven by the vertical shaft connected to a paddle set at the top. When candles are lit at the base of the pyramid, the rising heat rotates the tilted blades causing the platforms of nativity figures to come alive with movement. Many of ours were made in Germany before or after reunification in 1989, and some are copied versions skillfully made in the orient, however, German pyramids remain unsurpassed among all sources in quality and value. Our rare five tier pyramid is a majestic 26.4 inches height and is made in a classic arch style (see photos 11 and 13 for arch and fence similarities used in 24 openings) that allows many different views of the nativity characters whether on motion or stationary platforms. 41 figures are featured and include the holy family, trumpeting angels, shepherds, many sheep, kings with gifts, attendents, pack animals, palms and more. Overall, the pyramid has figures on seven to eight levels, four of which rotate and others which are stationary. The last six photos are dedicated to showing levels with both stationary and moving platforms. Rotation has been certified and is precise in operation; use the large German made pyramid candles (pyramidenkerzen) to fit candle holders for best and safest operation. Condition is complete and almost perfect with the only found issue a missing gold post knob for which a replacement was found and now included. Item #18249 One Hundred Vintage German Half-Figures or Pincushion Dolls Amazing Collection. An impressive, 25-year collection of over one hundred vintage German half-figures known as half dolls or pincushion dolls. These exquisitely sculpted figures most manufactured circa the 1920s – topped not only pin cushions but also powder puffs, lamp shades, clothes brushes, tea cozies and more. Undamaged with the exception of two figures holding flowers. The collection includes figures produced by several manufacturers including Dressel, Kister & Co. Karl Schneider and Goebel. This is my Mother’s private collection; acquired for her, in a significant part, by myself and my Father while out seeking vintage ocean liner memorabilia and antique German tin trains and boats. As it is impossible to adequately illustrate each doll due to eBays photographic limits, interested parties should note that I have uploaded over 100 individual, close-up photos to the Cloud and will be happy to share them. Note that there are two figures in the collection that I believe are reproductions. These figures are not shown in the images but will be included with the lot. The collection includes two related items: a powder dish/puff (later converted to a pincushion) and a scent vial – both modeled as full-body figures. My Mother left us on April 11, 2019 just shy of her 81st birthday. My sisters and I have made the decision to find an appreciative home for her collection.
