Doll & Co Live Steam Plant. Good example of a stationary steam engine manufactured by Doll & Co in the early to mid 20th century. It is set on a raised painted metal base. The boiler sits on a pressed housing, embossed to look like bricks and it comes with its original pressed metal chimney. Below the boiler is the original fuel burner and it also comes with a small water funnel. There is a pipe connecting the boiler to the cylinder which connects to the flywheel with a piston. This mechanism is sat on a raised metal base, painted light blue with a metal rail. The flywheel powers a pulley on which a metal or rubber band could be used to connect it to any piece of steam operated machinery. Half way along the pipe is a cap which allows for oil to be injected into the mechanism. Base : 9″ (23cm) x 8″ (20cm). Height to Chimney : 12 (30cm). Flywheel : 2 1/2 diameter. The whole thing looks like it has been very well cared for and looked after. I personally have not had it in steam but I have tested the mechanics by way of a small air compressor and everything appears to move as it should. Generally it is in excellent condition for its age. It has been lightly cleaned and displays very well. The boiler is free from any major dents and there is minimal rust or wear on the workings and pressed chimney / base. There are some minor signs of wear and use around the metal base and some small areas of rust and general marks but nothing major.
