For sale is a pretty German turned shoulder head doll on original muslin body, jointed at hips. Measuring 16 her head is in good original condition. No chips or cracks. Appears to be original pate and wig, pretty lace dress and hat. Her body shows overall staining; please take a good look at the pictures, they are to be considered part of the description. She has white socks over black socks – the black socks are sewn onto her body. I see a little sawdust around and may come from the lower legs – I’ve run my fingers over the legs and don’t feel where there is a break, but that’s not to say there isn’t one there. Lower bisque arms in fine shape.

Lovely early 28 Kestner Alphabet Doll Letter O. She has a turned shoulderhead and kid body. My last 2 photos show the O doll in Jan Foulkes book Kestner King of the doll makers. Her provenance is written on her tummy. She has been in her original family until I was asked to find her a good home. There has been some kid repair done on both upper arms, and someone plastered her eyes to be only open. There are no cracks or chips to this beautiful head or her perfectly sculpted hands and fingers. She has a sterling locked heart bracelet on her wrist. She is wearing an antique wig, and vintage clothes and socks. The shoes are newer but an appropriate style. Please review all photos and ask questions. This is a big heavy girl.

Very pretty doll in good condition. Her shoulder head has no damage. It is well preserved. The only imperfections the bisque has are typical kiln cracks behind the ears and tiny mold defect next to her mouth. The doll comes with original plaster pate and beautiful original human hair wig. It is in good shape considering the age, but does have some light wear. The kid body and bisque lower arms are also in good shape. There are some imperfections that can be seen on the photos. This beauty is wearing pantaloons. She has no other underwear. The stockings and shoes are included. Stockings have discoloration and a few holes. Wonderful dress is in good condition. ANTIQUE GERMAN BISQUE ALT BECK GOSTTSCHALCK TURNED SHOULDER HEAD 1123 1/2 w NOTE. Sweet little antique doll marked on the back of the head Made in Germany 1123 1/2 No 7. The eyes open and shut. It looks to be hand painted and the teeth are carved. Missing hair and clothes. As I pulled back the leather a bit to read the marks, the head fell off. Inside the head there were tiny little crumples of ripped up paper with writing. Best I can tell it looks like a child’s spelling and math work. The body is made of leather which is stuffed with sawdust. A couple of repairs in old cloth to the body. I don’t see any chips or cracks. I don’t know much about these dolls so I’ve left it as found. This is an antique closed mouth, turned head circa 1880s Kestner Alphabet “K” doll with delicate, perfect (no chips, cracks, hairlines) bisque on a leather body, that has some patches where the sawdust has leaked out but is stable now. She has fixed brown glass eyes and a blonde human hair wig which is very full and slightly curled at the ends. She wears an antique, cream-colored dress with a lace on the bodice, that includes an accordian-pressed, film-like, lace trimmed overlay stacked in two separate layers over the skirt. The dress snaps up the back. She is wearing vintage white pantalettes and a white half slip, with cream colored stockings and French-styled three-strap shoes. A tiny gold bar pin with an enamel pink rose adorns the middle of her bodice. An antique flat bonnet in brown straw, with cream-colored flowers and greenery is affixed to her head with a jeweled hatpin and completes her ensemble. This offering is for this divine late 19th Century 21 closed mouth Kestner doll. With large brown paperweight eyes. This light colored bisque shoulder head has no damage or repairs. White spots on face are from the camera flash. Her vintage French labeled long auburn mohair wig is excellent. The doll’s original white leather body has shoulder, elbow, hip and knee gussets, cloth feet and bisque lower arms with finely sculpted delicate hands and nails with no damage or repair. The sturdy leather body is in excellent condition except for the turned inward right leg & arms fixed in a bent position at the elbow gussets. These are common findings on these 19th C. The doll wears a light beige colored taffeta dress covered by lace, with a raised design at the bodice, and over the sleeves and skirt. It is not original but is a lovely match for the dolls age. Here is beautiful and large ABG bisque head doll. The shoulder plate is probably marked on the bottom and is covered with the body. The doll has stationary glass eyes that very-very beautiful. The wig is most likely original, it is a little worn and is nicely styled. The head is in good condition with no damage. Th leather body shows some wear and repairs. Right lower arm is in fixed bended position because of the repair. There is a chip to the right bisque hand. No leaking to the doll. She has very pretty face. Her shoulder plate marked with letter I. The pate is not original. The doll has stationary eyes. They dont look like a replacement but possibly were reset. There is a line above the right eye that can be a hairline. No other imperfections to the bisque were noticed. There is glue and hair residue to the head. The wig is a replacement. It is unglued and a little messy but very beautiful and looks great on the doll. Looks like her body is vintage replacement. All the parts except to the arms are tightly stuffed possibly with sawdust. The arms are softer. The bisque lower arms are original. They have some paint and mold imperfections as well as a chip to the fingers inside the right hand. The doll is wearing old possibly original set of underwear, which is beautiful. The dress is pretty simple but looks great on the doll. It is not original and is a little tight on her. It has no buttons on the back and is closed with pins. The top part of the dress is not completely closed but it is under the wig and is not visible. The matching hat and the brooch are included. No stockings or the shoes to the doll.
