This is an extremely rare, 100% original Liebe & Hofmann doll, dating from the 1880s, a remarkable survivor from one of Germany’s earliest porcelain doll manufacturers. These dolls were popular in the late 19th century for their delicate craftsmanship and realistic portrayal of children, often dressed in period-appropriate outfits to evoke innocence and playfulness. Leibe & Hofmann operated from 1772 to 1888 in Sonneberg, Thuringia (a major center for German doll and toy production), specializing in porcelain heads, bodies, and doll parts. They were known for exporting components to other manufacturers, but complete dolls like this one were assembled with bisque shoulderheads attached to fully jointed kid-leather or composition bodies. This doll is of high-quality production: fine modeling of the facial features, subtle feathering on the brows and lashes, and a smooth, lightly tinted bisque finish that enhances the skin’s natural glow. Head and Face: Bisque shoulderhead with an open mouth, six teeth, upper and lower painted lashes, and striking brown fixed eyes. The red hair is styled in soft waves. Body: Stuffed kid leather body and arms, and legs. The hands are plump and childlike, with separate fingers. There is sawdust coming out of her left arm where some tape has come away. As shown in the photos some of the leather on her body has been reinforced with tape. Clothes: She’s dressed in a charming Victorian-era ensemble, likely original or period-correct: – A white cotton dress with an elaborate lace-trimmed bodice – A full-length dark green cape with a matching tam hat – Matching bloomers (knee-length pantalettes) in the same white fabric, edged with ruffles and lace for a layered, feminine look. Simple feet, no shoes but booties instead Historical Context: Leibe & Hofmann began as a porcelain factory producing doll heads and limbs, contributing to the boom in bisque dolls during Germany’s “Golden Age” of toy-making (1870s-1890s). Their mark, typically “L & H” (incised on the back of the shoulderhead or base). Similar models were exported widely to Europe and America, where they were beloved by children and collectors alike. The L&H markings on the back of this doll are very distinct as shown in the pictures. The porcelain is all in excellent condition with no chips or cracks whatsoever. The clothing is in excellent condition as well considering it’s age.

Here Is a 9 1/2-inch-tall Parian bisque with articulated metal limbs and porcelain has and legs. So, it consists of bisque, metal and wood I took picture of the way she poses she is a very rare doll I pose her as she is tying her shoe, you can sit her down her arms are poses to give you an idea. Obviously very sturdy doll. Moveable doll you don’t have to be scared she may break thats the fun with this doll she also stays in position she can be carrying a basket she does have a broken thumb other than that she is in great condition.

VERY RARE ANTIQUE GERMAN ZEPPELIN COMPANY DURALUMIN ALLOY METAL VASE 1920’S. Duralumin is a metal alloy that is a combination of aluminum, copper, magnesium and manganese. At the turn on the century this material was used to manufacture Airships, (Zeppelins) by a factory in Germany. In 1920, the Treaty of Versailles forbade the manufacture and operation of zeppelins in Germany. The Zeppelin company began producing a line of metalware using the same material they previously used to manufacture Zeppelins. The company produced these small items until the Treaty of Versailles was withdrawn in 1925 and they could go back to manufacturing Airships. This vase was made in Germany sometime between 1920 and 1925 of duralumin by the Zeppelin factory. It has a very shiny finish, and is signed on the bottom by their Zeppelin logo and the word Zeppel. This vase has some wear. There are some scratches and a few rough spots as you can see in the pictures. However, I have to apologize for the reflections in the vase. It is very shiny overall and there are no strange dark areas. This vase is 8-1/2 tall. The mouth is 3-3/4″ across and the base measures 3-1/2″ across. You will never see another like this one!! I have never seen another NOS one offered. Has the red spacer which indicates 1953 or slightly after production until 1995. Bottom of knife says… MERCATOR-GERMANY CAT logo one side only! Been in a air tight bag and in gun safe for 50 years Please check out id on blade, both sides and location of rivets against any post WW2 old knives like this one!!! Truely a major Collector Find! NOTE: Mine has the RED insert at lanyard end from 1953. The Black Cat K55K is a great knife, I have about 10 of them right now. You can find them with all kinds of advertising on them and in many different colors. A few years back I contacted Otter-Messer the new owners of the Mercator Brand about how to date the old knives. Here what they told me. Otter-Messer bought Mercator from Kauffmann in 1995, Kauffmann owned the Mercator brand from 1856 to 1995. Kauffmann is now a division of Otter-Messer. From 1891 to 1952 the edge and tang of the Mercator Knife was marked Mercator D. R. G. , which means Deutsches Reichs Gebrauchs Muster. In English, this means “Protected Patent under the Reich Government”. The D. R. G. Markings on the handle side used from 1891 until 1952. In 1952, the patent stamping was changed to Mercator-Germany on the side of the handle. WW2 era Mercator’s are always marked D. R. G. M on the side of the handle. Post-War 1953 and newer knives always have “Mercator-Germany” on the side. The knives that were made pre-1952 were also about a inch larger than the Mercator’s made Post 1953. Also from 1953 to 1995 the spacer inserted at the rear of the knife was red on most of the knives, after 1995 it was change to black, this was done right after Otter-Messer bought the rights from Kauffmann.

Vintage, extremely rare German Draeger deep sea diver, good detail figural table lighter. Figure itself measures 5 3/8 tall. Material is metal with a silver, gray, and black finish. Lighter is in non working condition. Flint wheel has no traction. The figure is not on it’s original ashtray base, and was found glued on to a metal Old Crest U. Stamp/ tape dispenser (2″H x 2 3/4″ at base). Total weight is 1 LB. Some scratches, wear to finish, patina, and dirt/ dust, as shown in photos. Thank you for looking.

The dagger has nothing to do with the Third Reich or the Nazis. The handles are made of wood, imitation natural material, the hanger is plastic, with the loss of part of the loop. (Period of use – late thirties). Inside the metal case (sheath) there are 2 springs. The knife was carried and cared for. The knife is in good condition, showing signs of wear and use. Length- 250mm, width-26mm, blade length -138 mm. It is a genuine article. Please check the photos attentively: they show lot’s quality.

Antique 19th century Dresden gold embossed german Valentine’s candy container box with a wonderful and unusual sewn pillow like top that reads” FORGET ME NOT” with flowers surrounding it. The piece has a heavy like rope along the border of the pillow. The case, when opened, reveals a small vanity mirror and has intricate cardboard paper trim along the mirror and silk arms to open the box. Has a wonderful array of colors from pink, green, and yellow. The outside of the box is heavily embossed with dark gold, and the side trim is also beautifully inlaid with gold flowers throughout. I have never seen anything like this before in any book, and as I previously mentioned, it is so unique, especially with the elaborate top lid. It’s just a really exceptional example of an early German candy container box that I highly doubt you will find another example like it. The box measures approximately 4.25″ in length and 2.75″ in width and 1.50 in height. Overall condition: Has some minor corner bends on a few corners as shown. Has some minor paper loss to the back top edge where the top lid opens. Mirror has spotting as shown, but much of this is just simply age related wear as it’s an incredible survivor, considering it is made of a heavy cardboard and just a very delicate piece in nature.
