This is an old violin. There are several repaired cracks on the top. They seem to be solid. The bridge, neck nut, bottom nut etc are all there, they just need to be attached. The sound post needs to be reset. There are two bows. The one on the left is a Knoll bow. I couldn’t find a name on the other bow. Of course there is a Strad label.

This beautiful antique violin is a Stradivarius model copy, likely crafted in the late 1800s to early 1900s in the Markneukirchen (Germany) or Schönbach (Czech Republic) region – both known for producing quality workshop violins with excellent craftsmanship. Features. Traditional Antonius Stradiuarius Cremonensis label (dated 1742, common for model copies). Solid spruce top and flamed maple back/sides. Inlaid purfling (not painted). Decorative floral tailpiece. Warm, resonant tone – soundpost intact and well-fitted. Original antique varnish with natural patina Condition: The violin is in very good playable condition for its age. No major cracks or structural repairs. Some cosmetic varnish wear consistent with age. The included bow is missing all of its hair and will require rehairing to be playable. Included. Vintage wooden case with working latches. Vintage shoulder pillow rest. Bow (needs rehair) This violin would make a wonderful playable antique, folk fiddle, or decorative display piece.

(see photos) The violin is not currently playable and missing several parts including: nut, bridge, pegs, bridge and bow. Also the violin appears to have been stained. The case is not original. A very attractive and strong sounding violin made by a skilled Markneukirchen workshop, c. The two-piece maple back is of narrow to medium curl descending from left to right. The two-piece spruce table is of even fine grain with beautiful antiquing. The varnish is a shaded reddish brown color over golden orange ground. Length of Back: 356 mm. Comes with a basic hard shell case with all latches functioning. No open cracks or seams. Recently went over by professional luthier.
