Antique, Vintage, Old German Hungarian Violin Viola #6. Mid 1800s either German or Hungarian (country of origin unknown). Length of the back is 368, 369 mm. There’s a small label inside which reads JAVIOTTA GAZSA MARTON (I think that’s a repair ticket). It is in perfect playing condition. This Violin/Viola is unusual only because the length of the back is long enough to be considered a small viola or a long violin. It is perfect for a performer who doubles as a violinist and a violist. This must have been a very valuable instrument because of all the professional repairs that have been done on it. There are 2 bows that come with this instrument. One is faintly branded CHANOT, there’s no brand on the second bow. A professional case is included.
