This beautiful doll is coming with an elaborate outfit. There is a line to the back of the shoulder plate that appears to be a scratch but could be a hairline. No other flaws were noted to the china shoulder head. The body is antique and in good condition, with a repair to the right arm and other typical signs of wear. It is likely filled with horsehair. The doll is dressed as shown. The outfit shows discoloration and other wear but remain in good displayable condition. Please refer to the pictures for more details.

Antique 1850's 23 German China Doll Head Flat Top Covered Wagon Style Unmarked

Antique 1850s 23 German China Head Doll Flat Top Covered Wagon Style Unmarked. Elegant 1850s Victorian China Doll in Lace Gown. Step back in time with this beautiful mid-19th century German china head doll, measuring approximately 23 inches tall. She features a classic “Flat Top” / “Covered Wagon” hairstyle, hand-painted blue eyes, delicate single-stroke brows, rosy cheeks, and coral lips. Her china shoulder plate is unmarked, typical of early German makers such as Hertwig & Co. The stitched cloth body has divided legs and leather lower limbs with boots, showing some gentle age wear consistent with the period. She is elegantly dressed in a golden silk-blend gown, lace-trimmed cape, and detailed corset, with layered petticoats and underskirt beneath. Her clothing evokes the charm and refinement of the Victorian era. Excellent for age with some expected wear to clothing. The silk-blend gown and lace cape show light age toning and a few small holes in the sheer overlay (see close-up photo). Dress back and shirt are pinned for proper fit. No visible cracks or repairs to the china head. Leather boots show gentle age wear. Overall, she presents beautifully and displays well for her age. 23 tall, graceful proportions. Early German unmarked china head. Lovely vintage ensemble with lace and silk. Great for collectors or Victorian décor displays. From a smoke-free, pet-free home. Antique china head doll, 1850s doll, Victorian doll, flat top hairstyle, covered wagon style, Hertwig, Kister, unmarked German porcelain doll, early cloth body, leather boots, 23 inch antique doll, Civil War era collectible, Victorian home décor.

Antique German 21 Kister Covered Wagon Pink Tint China Shoulder Head Doll

Very beautiful all original doll! The doll is fragile as her body is filled with sawdust and her antique clothes. We didn’t remove them completely to prevent any damage to the doll or her clothes. The head of the doll is free of damage. It has just light paint wear and some production defects that can be seen on the photos. From what is possible to see without removing the clothes, the right hand of the doll is damaged and glued. Some repair to the left arm. Both feet of the doll feel damaged. The lace on the feet is glued and looks like a part of the repair. No leaking to the doll from what is visible. The dress has some discoloration and holes, yet it is still very pretty. Some wear to the underwear. Please refer to the pictures for more details. No stand or the chair are included.
