The cutest all bisque character doll! I’m unsure of the maker and can’t read the mark but she has the most darling face. Her crochet dress and bonnet are antique. Measures 1.69 – This marble has an excellent original surface with the pontil intact and very little wear, a few small pinpricks and moons is all. The goat figure is cracked inside the marble. Pardon the glare. Please view the photos to assess the condition further, I tried to capture any wear/damage I could see in the pictures. This very early German has a incised number on the back of her head but I cannot make it out as it is quite faint. It looks like 400 but not sure. She has a closed mouth with just a tiny bit of white separating her lips. Please peruse all of the photos as they are a huge part of my description. I try to take really close up photos so that you have a clear understanding of what you are seeing and reading. She stands 14 tall and has a beautiful face with high quality bisque. Her eyes are the early rayed ones with that spiral look. Some one added a piece of what looks to be part of a pate in order to make her head flat? I just left it there. Her body is well strung and she can hold a pose. Her head is perfect. There are a couple of chips, scrapes, dark marks on her early body that come with age. She comes dressed in a fabulous French looking two piece dress ensemble. It is a bit too small and I had a time getting it off of her and cannot get the jacket over her hands. It is a fully lined beautiful lace and silk with the jacket fully lined. Not sure how anyone could get it over her hands, I have attempted and gotten one hand in but not the other. Rather than ruin the jacket her arms or both or cut it, I will leave it up to whomever buys her. She wears ANTIQUE ALART shoes t hat are in original amazing shape with bows and fasteners in tact. This rare mold number 719 Simon & Halbig girl has the sweetest face! Standing 21 tall, she has chocolate brown sleep eyes surrounded by masterfully painted upper and lower lashes. Her lids have nearly all of their wax. Her cupids bow shaped open mouth exposes five enamel upper teeth. Her ears are pierced and she has no hairlines. There is a slight flake to one earring hole. There is a mold line behind the same ear done in the kiln, this is not a hairline. Her French body has areas of repaint and she holds a pose nicely. She wears gorgeous antique pantaloons with delicate lace trim. A full antique slip with more delicate lace trims and a stunning cream colored antique silk dress. Her pink cotton socks and black oilcloth shoes are also antique. Her wire framed pink hat is hand sewn and adorned with vintage millinery flowers, netting and plumes. Her brown human hair wig has a cardboard pate and adorable Buster Brown bangs. There is a delicate raspberry pink silk sash around her waist. This pretty girl needs no primping to fit right into your collection. She is ready to show off, right our of the box. WONDERFUL ANTIQUE GERMAN PARIAN DOLL. By Alt, Beck, & Gottschalk – Circa: turn of the century. This doll is from a smoke free home and has no odors. Oh My, what a seldom seen Parian example. Here is a 13 inch antique German Parian doll with glass eyes and a molded bonnet. She has a couple of problems: there is a surface crack on one leg; and in the back of both legs at the knee seam there is some resealing. Both problems are hardly noticeably unless you look for them. For reference see page #49 in the book, “Identifying German Parian Dolls” by Mary Gorham Krombholz. At some time lace has been added around the rim of the bonnet. A Parian with glass eyes and a molded bonnet is seldom seen. This is a sweet girl. I love the molding of the blonde hair. And I love the molded bonnet with the blue bow that matches her blue eyes. Very sweet all bisque with two. Pouty face on such a little girl. She has no problems that I see but a whole lot going for her. There is a name written in what looks like pencil on her back. I have tried to remove without. I see no chips or cracks. Her wig is glued down. She has that pouty face, open and close eyes, 5 way jointed. There is a number 1 on the back of her head. Her maker is unknown to me. That as a Kestner number but who knows. I have seen where others say a 1 is Kestner. The one dress has a couple of small holes in it from aging. I stand by my dolls.
