Antique Kestner 20 doll, bisque head with ball jointed composition body, with jointed wrists. Brown glass sleep eyes, with open mouth and 2 teeth. The original wig is scruffy, especially in the back. Dressed in a linen jacket and either linen or cotton pants, with a one-piece chemise underneath. The pants have snaps on each hip. Slight wear on the fingertips, but the toes are excellent. The eyelids look funky. There is wear to the compo at the knees, and I think one ball was replaced there since it’s a different color. The arms are a little loose and won’t quite hold a pose. Nowadays this Original Systeme Glashütte mechanism with Original dial and hands manufactured in 1900`s were put into new Stainless Steel gold color wrist Case, that was made on Factory by Professionals specially for this Mechanism. This watch was manufactured by Systeme Glashütte in the period of time when they didn`t sign their movements. This watch was manufactured on the same factory, where such famous brands like Lange&Sohne, LACO, Glashütte Original producing their watches. Hands are turning after pressing and holding the button (that is situated near mark 4) and spinning the crown Anticlockwise. The back and front covers are transparent, covered with mineral glasses (not plastic). This watch is in perfect working condition and can be used in everyday life. This is a beautiful early Kestner doll, circa 1882. She also has the very rare early 8 ball jointed body with straight wrists and with original finish. This doll stands approximately 18 high. She has a bisque socket head, brown glass sleep eyes, beautiful painted lashes and brows and closed mouth. This doll also has a beautiful human hair wig, from the same period, although it might not be original. She’s wearing a gorgeous silk antique dress, tight up with a silk lace, all handmade. The dress is in good condition for it’s age only showing a few signs of wear. She’s also wearing an antique underwear skirt, socks and shoes. She is marked on the back of her head with the number 13. Even though this is a rare and breathtakingly beautiful early Kestner doll, she does have two airlines on her forehead, that were professionally repaired, and reflect the more affordable price. Fortunately these are very thin airlines that became virtually invisible since the repair is remarkably well done. You can see on the detail photos I have from this doll how amazingly well done the repair was made. I also added a photo with the light lamp inside the doll’s head so that you can see exactly were the airlines are. People have been asking for a photo of the inside of the doll’s head so I just added one. You hardly can see on the inside of the doll’s head that the doll is damaged because the two airlines are very thin. This is a rare opportunity to own one of Kestner earlier dolls!
