Antique 1925 German Erzbegirge Putz Folk Art Farm Scene 35 Figures Flocked Base
This set is one that someone created from their Erzgebirge Germany miniatures, probably for a train scene. It is a charming little farm, with three androgenous people, lots of little animals, trees and fences just about everywhere a fence could go! I can see in my minds eye an adult and a child creating this scene together. The pieces are a mixture of antique and vintage – the people and the trees are a bit newer than the animals. The little animals are all hand carved. I don’t know what the flocking is, but I see it all the time for antique train and village scenes. In this case it is added to a piece of board. The board has separated along the back, but doesn’t show through the flocking and grass. The little animals are meant to represent sheep, but some look a bit dog like! There are 35 pieces, total.
