Item #18249 One Hundred Vintage German Half-Figures or Pincushion Dolls Amazing Collection. An impressive, 25-year collection of over one hundred vintage German half-figures known as half dolls or pincushion dolls. These exquisitely sculpted figures most manufactured circa the 1920s – topped not only pin cushions but also powder puffs, lamp shades, clothes brushes, tea cozies and more. Undamaged with the exception of two figures holding flowers. The collection includes figures produced by several manufacturers including Dressel, Kister & Co. Karl Schneider and Goebel. This is my Mother’s private collection; acquired for her, in a significant part, by myself and my Father while out seeking vintage ocean liner memorabilia and antique German tin trains and boats. As it is impossible to adequately illustrate each doll due to eBays photographic limits, interested parties should note that I have uploaded over 100 individual, close-up photos to the Cloud and will be happy to share them. Note that there are two figures in the collection that I believe are reproductions. These figures are not shown in the images but will be included with the lot. The collection includes two related items: a powder dish/puff (later converted to a pincushion) and a scent vial – both modeled as full-body figures. My Mother left us on April 11, 2019 just shy of her 81st birthday. My sisters and I have made the decision to find an appreciative home for her collection. At this time, and due to the difficult nature of this decision, I hope all will understand that we will not entertain offers for individual figures and present the half dolls as a collection only. I have maintained a file with notes regarding the approximate size of each figure, as well as a record of any incised or molded numbers or stamped markings, and will be happy to answer any questions to the best of my ability.
