This all original, pristine antique presentation boxed set for the French market is truly a rarity! At the center, a darling, tiny Simon Halbig doll is bedecked in a pale robin’s egg blue frock trimmed with Valenciennes lace and broderie Anglaise. Underneath she dons a slip and pantaloons with lacy edges. She wears silk crochet lace stockings and little black leather shoes. Her silky strawberry blonde mohair wig is of the finest quality. She has stationery brown glass eyes fringed with delicately painted upper and lower lashes. Her fine quality bisque is accentuated with rosy pink cheeks and peachy cupid’s bow lips. Her tiny mouth has four little teeth. Her trousseau includes 17 precious pieces of couture that includes dresses, pin tucked tops and skirts, hats/bonnets, jacket, lingerie & lingerie bag, stockings and kerchiefs. All are in fantastic condition and trimmed with lace and blue silk bows! The detail is astonishing! The presentation box itself is sturdy, Valenciennes lace edged, with tiny blue silk bows and polka dotted wrapping. It has a fitted glass lid to keep everything safe. The set is extremely clean and well cared for. No odors, and clothing items have never been removed from the box – sewn in place. Rarely does an example like this come along.
