Lovely Simon and Halbig 939 German bebe doll made for the French market, she is adorable with her long French face, dark brown eyes still on their original rockers and just a little smile showing tiny teeth. Her thick antique brown wig compliments dark feathers eyebrows. She is on her very nice, sturdy German body with straight wrists, which is in very good antique condition showing just some wear around the joints as expected. Her string is ok, not loose and not tight. She is wearing a very expensive genuine antique (not newly made) lace dress (darling heart design incorporated on the bottom seam) with the original (a little frayed) antique rushed ribbon about the waist that is a nice compliment to the antique ruffled lace bonnet. Antique petticoat under it with vintage pantaloons and vintage socks and shoes. Her bisque head is without cracks, breaks or repair but a bit of it off around the very top rim of her head from where someone previously had take her wig off. And, there is just a tiny, little paint rub to the end of her nose. She stands about 17 high. The 939 is without a doubt my very favorite of S&H dolls, even over many of the other French bebes; so she will surely be missed. She has passed all tests successfully, has had a bath, as well as her wig and the clothing has been hand washed and steam pressed, so she is ready for play or display.
