Up for your consideration is vintage and antique marble collection that was collected nearly 50 years ago! The marbles are much older, but the collection was presented at the 1969 Minnesota State Fair and was awarded the blue ribbon. I spoke with the original owner several years ago who rescued his collection from his parents home and shared his experience collecting these marbles with his mother at garage sales, flea markets and shops around his home town. Many of the marbles are in extremely nice condition while others have plenty of hits and chips from years of play. The largest German swirl is significantly chipped as pictured. The micas are among my favorites with one LOADED mica in a rich dark amber color in an enormous well over 1.2 inch size. The sulphides are a 1.8 inch sheep, 1.5 inch horse, 1.5 inch running rabbit, and a 1.5 inch walking bear. Plenty of benningtons, fancy benningtons, a few newly sized glazed chinas, along with cobalt blue clearies, and a couple of hand cut agates. While you can rarer and better conditioned marbles available, you’ll be hard-pressed to locate a legit collection that has been kept intact for this long. Thanks for your interest and best of luck!
