Kestner 143 Child Doll 8 1/2 original Body, Wig and Blue Sleep Eyes. Pretty German bisque doll faintly incised on back of head “Made in Germany/143″. Classic Kestner look with painted upper and lower eyelashes, brown feathered eyebrows, pink toned peaked lips, and rosy cheeks. There is a small rub on the left cheek. She has an open mouth with four square cut teeth and pink nostril dots. Her light blue glass eyes open and close easily. Quality smooth bisque head with no cracks or chips. She has her original plaster pate although the front edge has been damaged. The wig is original but was a bit sparse so I added a little mohair to give it a fuller look. Her wood and composition body is all original with some scrapes, and scratches as pictured. The arms are straight limbs and the legs jointed at the knee. She wears appropriate old clothing including pantaloons, petticoat, shoes, socks and a cotton dress with white stipes. Comes from smoke free home of collector.
