Die Erichaffung Des Dackles Antique German Possibly 1800s
This antique German book titled “Die Erichaffung Des Dackles” is a rare find for collectors and enthusiasts of children’s classical literature. The book has a paper softcover and was printed in Germany by Paul Alicke in the late 1800s. In the front cover, you will notice a handwritten note at the top of the page that has the date 24 – 12-09. I don’t know if this means 1809 or 1909 but I’m guessing it is one of the two and from the very extremely old condition and the treasure chest of vintage collectibles, I came across This could very easily be 1809. But no guarantees on the date because there is nothing printed that I could find on the book and I do not read German. It features illustrations by Von R Porftein and a dedication written in German on the first page with a pencil. The book is an original and has not been facsimiled. It is a great addition to any collection of vintage paperbacks and German literature. However, it is complete and the illustrations are absolutely beautiful. The problem is that the binding is completely shot, and the pages are all there, but they are all loose. There are no pages still in the binding and perhaps it could be restored because this is potentially of very good value. Von Hayno Focken is also mentioned on the front cover, but I could not tell you anything else because I do not understand German. Just based on the illustrations, I think it’s talking about dogs going to heaven, but it also has a very diabolical looking devil in the back. I’m not quite sure on all that but it definitely has a lot to do with angels and puppy dogs, and a little bit of devil stuff.
